Subject: [2000] - Eldar - Fun List in a Competitive Environment

So this list is designed to have fun playing in a competitive tournament where all the prizes are draw prizes rather than by score, so I really don't care if I get trounced but I would prefer to get trounced in an amusing manner. As a note, maximum 1 SH/GMC, re-rollable 2+ invulnerables are only passed on a 4+ second time around, and we are picking warlord traits. Since I'm using Asurman, I've been directed to use the average of a D3 (2) as my number of traits. I decided I'd use these warlord traits to make Asurmen one of the hardest mother fethers you've ever seen on the table top.
CAD
Asurmen
-Fates Messenger (Re-rolls saving throws of 1 on a model with a 2+ armour, 4+ invul/3+ in challenge)
-Tenacity (FNP, on a T4 EW with a re-rollable 2+/4++/3++, suck on that)
4 units of 3 Scatter Bikes (ObSec and Long Range Support)
2 Units of 1 Fire Prism (Anti-Armour, Long Range Support, and Templates, all the upgrades mean they will never jink and hopefully never have to deal with snap firing)
-Holo Fields
-Spirit Stones
-Shuriken Cannons
Wraithknight
-Sword and Board
-2 Scatter Lasers
Dire Avenger Shrine (precision strike force, put them where I want them and open up on whatever needs to die)
2 Units of 10 Dire Avengers
-Wave Serpent
--Holo-fields
--Bright Lances
1 Unit of 10 Dire Avengers
-Exarch
--Power Weapon & Shimmershield (this is Asurmens spot so I want his unit to live and bring some more swings to the party if necessary)
-Wave Serpent
--Holo-Fields
--Bright Lances

I would drop the cannons on the fire prisms, they are usually a waste if you're shooting at something that's av13+ Also consider putting them in one squadron so you can link their fire. A s10ap1 lance is epic, or a s6ap2 large blast? Not a bad list with the 3 serpents doing work against most targets. I'd swap at least 1 serpent out for starcannons. You'll want the more shots versus certain things. I would also try to find points to give all your serpents the shuriken cannon upgrade, with starcannons/scatter lasers/shuriken cannons on top they will synergize nicely and slaughter infantry. I always run 2 serpents - 1 with bright lances, one with star cannons, both with shuri cannon and holo fields.
I like it. Let us know how it goes. I think another bright spot for eldar is the psychic phase and you're not utilizing that. I like the unconventional list, though. Good show.

Asuremen and Co. is a neat idea that should be a lot of fun to play. That being said I think Fire Prisms are miserable - if you're able to swap them for Night Spinners you'd get more mileage from them.
Alternatively swap them for Hornets, Crimson Hunters, or Vauls'.
Cheers.

Well I've changed the list slightly, and I did drop the prisms, to replace them with...
2 WRAITHLORDS OF DOOM
with;
2 Flames
2 Brightlances
Ghostglaive
On each of them, which is 10 points more, so I swapped the wraith knight over to double d cannon and a star cannon instead of two scatter lasers to make up those points. Makes it very much in the style of Old School Eldar I think, especially with the once a game huge volley of shots (muhahaha, 87 shots from BS5 Avengers, honestly can shred most things, I mean like put 5 wounds on a shielded wraith knight kind of shred most things)

+1 to this being a super cool idea. I look forward to hearing how it goes.
I like the switch on the wraithknight over to cannons; it's good enough in close combat for most situations as-is and this gives you some flexibility.

Well the cannons give me more heavy attack option, something I miss a little, I mean if you're t6 or less I will munch on you but really heavy units like raiders, monolith, etc that I could run into I get something to deal with those a little easier (7 lances 2 heavy wraith cannons)
