I'm currently working on a huge tau army as a commission.

As a first picture, here is a part of this commission (yes it's just a part !) :

Geez thats a lot of FW monies in that first pic.

Looks amazing. Probably the first winter themed tau ive seen that wasnt just stark white with some grey and maybe a stripe of red.

Its paintjobs like this that make me want to invest in an airbrush. Though i currently dont have the space for it, and my tau scheme wouldnt really benefit from it all that much aside from some light shading and OSL tricks.

I can get into this. Always like seeing well painted FW armies.

Buying an airbrush was a life changing decision for me, literally as without it I couldn't have turned commissions into my full time job.

Looks absolutely stunning. You painted about as much as i have painted in 2 years in a matter of a month-ish lol and better too.

For some reason when i saw the Tigershark solo picture i thought it was a Manta for a second lol. No idea why rofl. Nobody would ever dump the money on that piece of junk.

Also let me just say youre one of the few people ive seen do the secondary lighting RIGHT. Theyre not overly shiny, causing a quarter sized glow on the armor from a pinhole source. But they still look great and obviously have an OSL effect.

Excellent job. Exchange the red parts by dark blue ones and it's the scheme I am going to use for my new Tau :p

Did you use GW colors or other ones (saw the big pile in the first pic)?

If yes, which color did you use as base coat for the armored parts before highlighting with the AB? Calgar Blue? Ferisian Grey? Russ Grey?

I also want to have some blueish base tone in the "white" parts

That's one of the best thing you could have said to me !
I really hate all that high contrast and overthetopOSLeverywhere that most of the other commission painters do so I always try to keep it quite subtle.

My main color rang is usally Coat d'arms but for this army I used mostly Vallejo.

Started with a mix of white and black primer (Both Vallejo) and they airbrushed "Ivory" (Vallejo) on top of it, that's it for the white.
I don't know why but that mix of black and white gave that blueish base. That's one of my many "happy mistakes".

The dark grey parts are just "Dark grey" (Coat d'arms).

He might not want people to know how much he spend on his hobby.
