So I’ve never worked with resin models before and I’m a little lost, please help.

The model in question has mould lines, flash and a few bubbles, all of which I can cope with. But this is how the surface appears:



I assumed this was the much mentioned release agent so I’ve soak the piece in warm soapy water for a while and given it a scrub but can’t see any difference.

Am I too impatient or is this just how the piece has been cast?

Looks like a bad cast to me.
Is it from FW? If 'yes' then call them up, explain the problem & they'll send out a replacement.

After working with the d**n stuff for nearly fourteen years I can confirm it is a bad cast. Send it back and get a replacement,to be honest it should never have been sent to you in the first place.

Unless this is some rotten nurgle chaos something it is failcast.

FW is very responsive when it comes to replacing parts.
