Hey there Dakka, hope everyone is enjoying the Holidays.

I currently have 2 factions in an alliance right now, Tau and Necrons. What are another 2 factions that
would play well against the Necrons and Tau both on the tabletop and in the fluff? These two factions will
also be in an alliance. I will rule out a couple factions that I refuse to play: IG, Orks, SoB, IK, and any
non-Tzeentch Daemons.

It might help if we knew what kind of game you wanted to play and why you already ruled several factions out (your selection does not seem to follow any pattern that I can understand).

The mission doesn't actual matter. I meantoverall effectiveness in games. I ruled those factions out because those are factions I don't want to field

So you want Eldar and Imperium of some kind or another. You're running out of independent Factions to choose from. The only ones missing are Nids and CSM so just pick two of those four. Alaitoc tends to have some bad history with Necrons, and any Space Marine Chapter hates the Tau. Raven Guard or White Scars with the new Kauyon expansion gives plenty of options.

If you want to keep things nice and fluffy I would recommend AdMech and Eldar, specifically the AdMech Forge World Stygies VIII.

During the Horus Heresey the planet almost fell to Chaos until Eldar came and saved the day. This has led to a secret sect called the "Xenarites" amoung the AdMech of Stygies VIII (who have been openly purged in he past, such as the schism of M.36) - meaning an alliance between them and the Eldar would fit in well with the background.

This is taken from the Skitarii Codex btw, and although the Craftworld of the Eldar isn't mentioned, Ulthwe would be a good choice as both are located near the Eye of Terror.

Very interesting, I like the Idea. I'll probably do SM with AdMech auxiliary combined with Eldar.
