Options 1:
No transport. Outflank, and hope you get him where you need him.
Pros: Only 1 Detachment needed. Cheapest way.
Cons: No guarantee he will survive to do his thing.

Option 2:
Drop Pod. Space Marines, Space Wolves, or Blood Angels Allied detachment.
Pros: You can put him exactly where you want him. Take 2 pods, and you can decide if he comes in on turn 1. Alpha-strike ability.
Cons: 2 Detachments. Once deployed lacks mobility.

Option 3:
Inquisition Valkerie. Take a Inquisitor with Servo Skulls, A Valkerie, and a Culexus. If you want to go Crazy, Take Coteaz for the reroll to seize.
Pros: Super Fast. Fairly survivable. Grav Chutes lets you deploy even after moving. Can keep up with psychers even if they move around. Get Servo Skulls, and possibly Coteaz
Cons: Can't Alpha-Strike. Grav Chute are scary. Most expensive option. Must Start in Reserves.

What seems like the best way to go?

Well I think this depends on the rest of your army. If you have no other alpha strike besides him, then option 2 is going to look scary. He will come in, try to get his points worth and then die.

Option 1 is also going to be scary if you have nothing upfield to support him. Although, it is the cheapest way, so you risk less points and its easier for him to earn those points back.

Valkyrie are awesome. but like you said, grav-chute is very scary.

It depends on the other army. For example, I sometimes pop a Vindicare into some of my Necron lists for example.

You take 2 Pods and get to make a gametime decision if he Alpha Strikes or Beta Strikes.

Yah I play War Convocation and luckily you can pretty much decide if you need that drop pod accuracy to stop a deathstar/pysker mess immediately or just infiltrate as normal.
