So after I bothered all of you with hundreds of questions about how to paint grey knights, force weapons, etc., I finally went ahead and started actually painting my new minis.

I wanted to do a step by step WIP thread, but I went full berserk mode and couldn't stop painting.

Most of the weapons are magnetized, so I can swap every halberd for a sword and every set of falchions against a halberd. The hammer can also be swapped out.
I could also have magnetized the left hand of the falchions to swap them with sword + bare hand, but that would have been a bit over the top imho. and I did not want to have to many small magnetized parts like hands flying around.
I used 3x1.5mm magnets. They are pretty strong (N52) so the weapons don't wiggle or turn due to gravity - they just sit perfectly.

To Do:
- Bases
- Right shoulder pad shields (white/red/both?)
- minor cleanups

Hope you like it so far!

Nice work. Clean. Are you painting transition on the power weapons ? There is a nice tutorial on it here. Can't wait to see it when it's done.

The silver is very smooth - good work there.
I would make the parchment a bit paler with lighter shadows so it sticks out more from the gold.
I also like the eyes.

Also I've started taking photos to use as reference for weathering which can be found here. Please send me your photos so they can be found all in one place!!

Thanks

I am actually quite proud of how the eyes turned out as well!
First time they do not look like a 13 year old girl trying mums makeup ^^

I will highlight the purity seals, thanks for the advice!

@Powerswords: I think I won't... I tried 20 times on old bits, and it just doesnt look good. Maybe an edge highlight and a shade - nothing more.

Your GKs are very nicely painted, Aeri. The armor is especially well done: a smooth coat with a subtle blue tone. I can echo what others have said: keep practicing different power weapon techniques. If you can find one that you're comfortable with, it'll take this army to the next level in appearance. Good work

I think an airbrush would help greatly, but that is something I can not afford yet.

I finished the bases yesterday and glued everybody in place

here are some pictures:

The colors on the foto are bit wrong, the rubble area has a slight mud tone. Looks a lot better in RL than here :/
You can also see that I cleanded up the purity seals and put some more highlights on the books.

and this is the next step: the shield seal thingies on the right shoulder of the models.
I am not sure how I want to paint it (white or red), but I dont think I will make it two-coloured.

(these

The other shields that are not yet glued on (the one that sticks on their armpits) is going to be red and white.
I will simply use the red and white primer sprays I still own and masking tape

the journey goes on!

just finished 5 Purifiers. I am still looking for another 2 incinerators to get started on the other 5 purifiers on my table.
I also attached some pics of my dreadknight and my vindicare assassin which I finished a few weeks ago.

The Dreadknight is 100% magnetized (legs, hands, weapons), the purifier squad just has the option to swap the deamon hammer for a sword.
Strike Squads are pretty cheap and therefore I will not bother magnetizing every single hand...

I just ordered a Stormraven Gunship on ebay, good price so I couldn't resist
I will keep you guys up to date ;-)

picture quality is not the best, sorry for that guys!
I will take some better pictures soon.
