So, I've been doing my research on the Fallen and the Dark Angels since I have been experimenting with Cypher in my recent games. In that research I have wondered about what the Fallen woyld look like: would they follow the pre-heresy color scheme they started with? Would they chip off all paint and start anew? What about cobbling together mismatched parts of different armors? Some very solid advice i saw someone give another asking the same question, was that the Fallen have been separated for centuries from eachother, most never seeing one of their brothers again and that if two or more ever somehow found eachother, that they would bith have stories to share and memories to reminisce about. Because of this wonderful response, i have decided that im going to try to give each marine a personality or at least some form of story as to what happened to him after Caliban got wrecked. These stories will serve as a basis for their models.
Some ideas ive had are
One that takes precise care in his armor, wields a two handed sword and basically acts like a knight in power armor. At that point im unsure as to whether he supported Luther or the Lion.
Another is almost the opposite: his armor is shabby in most places with scratches and scars and even chunks missing and uses a combat knife and the broken hilt of his sword and basically fights like you would expect a rogue would with two daggers. I'm also unsure about his loyalties.
So if any of you have some cool ideas that you wouldn't mind being put into mini-form, let me know and ill see what i can do.
Disclaimer: results, And pictures of, will be uploaded sometime after Christmas since im getting a DA veterans box to base these guys off of

I play chaos and the Dark Angels... Whenever I run Cypher and his infiltrating Chosen, I use some dark angel models and some from my various chaos warbands... A single squad will have 3 or 4 different styles of armor depending on what weapon loadouts I'm using... I like the look of a band of fallen who have recently reunited after being separated for countless years.

They'd generally have earlier PA MKs, but not unlikely they managed to scavenge some other equipment. Their level of "Chaos" would also vary - some, like Merir Astelan, wasn't mutated or changed at all, but others are.

I feel like this would all depend upon the point in time at which the Fallen fell out of the Warp (as well as personality, of course). If the Fallen fell out a few years ago, then he'll likely still have the Legion color scheme, but a few decades (or centuries)? He'd likely change it completely to distance himself from the Unforgiven as much as possible.

For model ID purposes, (though maybe not fluff-compliant), I use DA Veteran bodies and heads (most of which have the trademark robes), give them Chaos Marine backpacks and weapons. Armor is black with a dark green highlight

Most everyone is picking up a BaC box, and id say use a lot of those parts. For the Fallen who've had more exposure to chaos use chaos SM bits. For those that have tried to stay chaos free, use bits leftover from 40k boxes(should be easy enough to get). Kick in the odd bit from the DAs upgrade sprew.
Half your guys will have tried thier hardest to stay taint free. The other half...not so much. Either way they'll be very DAs looking as a bunch. The change to dark green was to signify there shame. Members of the Fallen would likely wear dark green if they personaly felt a reason to. Maybe just a dark green token.

I run Cypher with a Chosen squad with plasma guns. Cypher is painted, and those Chosen (the models are regular Chaos Space Marines with some of the accessories from that kit) when they are finished being painted (not sure when that will be) will be in pre-Heresy black power armor.

I literally just mixed dark angels with chaos bits as if they were in the middle of changing over to chaos. The more I read about the dark angels and the fallen the less I like the fallen are "chaos" theory. Quite possibly my favorite character in the dark angels novels was merrir astlean who doesn't appear to be tainted by chaos at all, just mad.

Have you read the new one?
Astelan is 100% a douche, but not chaos and defo not mad, he is very much like cypher, just has his own agenda.
In the legacy of caliban series you get all kinds of fallen, nurgle sorcerer fallen, fallen that are just pissed at the imperium and fallen that are still loyal to the emperor, but not the current imperium and lastly, chaos fallen, so you can do as you please really.
