anyone else think this is entirely rediculous and somewhat contrary to their own description?

heres the new emperors talon detachment, units of armored sents "led by a grizzled veteran pilot whose mastery of reconnaissance tactics and light walker combat doctrine transforms his company from a band of warriors into a deadly hunting pack. Following their commander's lead, the squadrons of sentinels sweep around the flanks of the battle, isolating and blasting apart targets of opportunity or attacking in force from an unexpected quarter."

sounds wonderful, sounds like what i've always wished sentinels could be

except the formation offers nothing to help these bastards coordinate worth crap, no rule for the entire detachment arriving from reserves on a single roll so they arrive in force like so many other recent detachments, not even a may reroll reserves roll to make it likely they arrive at the same time, nothing to allow me to reroll or modify the outflanking roll to decide the table edge or ability to choose the table edge they arrive from

so these masters of reconnaissance and coordinated hunters can have 1 unit arrive turn 2 from one edge, a second unit arrive turn 3 from a different edge, and a third unit arrive turn 4 from the final edge... wtf?

The fluff always overstates the competence of units. If the game reflected the fluff, 10 space marines would be able to take on entire 1000pt armies by themselves. Hell, just read the fluff about Pyrovores...

While that's true, I get what Makarios is saying. This formation actually makes the sentinels worse instead of better at Outflanking. It's a whole other level of fluff/rules conflict.
