Hi,

I was reading through the rules that come in the Tau Campaign box, specifically about Aund'do, the Ethereal from that box. His page states:

"Storm of Fire: Affected models fire an extra shot with pulse weapons (such as pulse Carbines) when firing at a target within half the weapons maximum range."

So, as you can see there are not he normal restrictions that currently apply to codex Ethereals.

Would it then be written that he can give the Stormsurge (and the Ta'unar) an extra shot on their Pulse Weapons?

It certainly looks like it.

Does it specify which models can be affected?

Specifically, which models Invoking the Elements can affect? Storm of Fire seems to be a rule within a rule, which has the list of those it affects inside the larger rule.

Are you a Wolf, a Sheep, or a Hound?

The codex version of Invocation of Elements targets non-vehicle tau units. Storm of Fire then has a number of excluded weapons like the pulse driver.

The Campaign Booklet Storm of Fire does not seem to include the same restrictions as the codex

I guess it is too soon for an FAQ on it, but at the moment it does seem that Aun'do specifically can affect all weapon with the pulse type

Unless someone can show me definitively that he doesn't...

So, since each profile has an individual range, should they be treated separate for the purposes of "half range"? So the Storm of Fire would only affect enemies at less than 5" (on the closest setting) and at exactly 10" on the medium?

"when firing at a target within half the weapon's maximum range"

So I would say you can simplify it to be 15" of the whole profile. So the longest range of the Pulse Blastcannon can never be affected
