As the title reads really, I'm new to 30k but a veteran 40k player. I've got a campaign weekend lined up in a few months time. I bought fulgrim about a year ago as a project and cos I thought he looked cool, and now he's just sitting there fully painted doing nothing. With the betrayal at calth set out I've been inspired to go to a campaign weekend. However, I'm not too sure what to include other than fulgrim, pts are at 2500 so plenty to play with. I've also got loads of 40k marines to use as well as a reasonable budget. The first few lists I came up with were footslogging ones, which I feel will get curb stomped every game, however I don't really want to take double siciran, whirlwind scorpius, double contemptor and 6 rapier weapons batteries. So if anyone has any suggestions for what to put in my emperor's children army to make it playable, yet not leaning towards mech iron hands. I also sort of know about rites of war, which one would best fit the emporer's children?

Do you have access to a bunch Drop Pods? If so, there's a pretty potent drop-pod Rite of War. Basically, put nasty stuff in drop-pods and let er rip. There's also a LR-based RoW where everyone can pile into Land Raiders. Not sure how that would play in your meta, but 40k models would work. If you have any artillery like Basilisks or Medusas from another army you can take them in threes. Likewise you could take LRs as HS in threes. Just trying to think of models you might already have.
