Grovelin' Grot

I'm an old hand at Tabletop RPG's I have folders, binders and boxes full of ideas, old Character sheets, notes and whole worlds I have built. Though I haven't had time to DM any campaigns as of late. And I love my Vidya games.

I'm a late in life beginner to the joys of miniature war gaming. I have been interested in 40k for many years, but only recently got a job that paid enough for me to get started. Which of course started with a very careful consideration of my options, the different armies all had their upsides and down sides. But then I discovered BatReps, and my quest was soon at an end. After watching dozens of people playing all the different armies I realized that the Ork players just seemed to be having a hair more fun. I mean you can't be taking the game too seriously when at any point your army has a small chance of blowing itself up (Shokk Attack Gun). Of course I can't just slap together some Goff horde and call it a day, no I'm a little touched in the head(see above) so I need something a little different. I'm building a Bloodaxe army with more kit-bashed and converted Trukks then you can shake a Grot at, I'm going for a truly mismatched army. Bought one Trukk from GW and have already started on turning a WWII German Half-track into a Trukk. My conversion work got a huge boost when my Brother-in-Law gave me all the sprues he had lying around from his Chaos Daemon and Dark Eldar armies plus a few bits from a Space Marine Dreadnought. That German Half-track is getting a ram built from the throne parts from a Blood Throne of Khorne, BiL wanted to build the cannon and he's taking that Herald from that throne he's not using and making him a normal ground pounding Herald standing on the severed head of an Ork (my suggestion, I really love this converting thing) And I may start a small Imperial force soon as well, got an idea for a female Inquisitor made from some of those Dark Eldar parts and a little Green Stuff, if I can get my hands on some proper Green Stuff and not that thick green paint that GW sells as green stuff (though that does work nicely for filling thin gaps). So yeah, I'm one of the Odd Boyz, now if you'll excuse me I have a bunch of Grots that need their heads attached.

Hi. Welcome to Dakka

TheEyeOfNight- I swear, this thread is 70% smack talk, 20% RP organization, and 10% butt jokes
TheEyeOfNight- "Ordo Xenos reports that the Necrons have attained democracy, kamikaze tendencies, and nuclear fission. It's all tits up, sir."
Space Marine flyers are shaped for the greatest possible air resistance so that the air may never defeat the SPACE MARINES!
Sternguard though, those guys are all about kicking ass. They'd chew bubble gum as well, but bubble gum is heretical. Only tau chew gum

Such a glorious title, I must click it and offer my greetings

It is not ours to win, but to fight, and enjoy every turn.

I am the kinda ork that takes his own washing machine apart, puts new bearings in it, then puts it back together, and it still works.

Hi,

Welcome to Dakka

IceAngel wrote:I must say Knightley, I am very envious of your squiggle ability. I mean, if squiggles were a tactical squad, you'd be the sergeant. If squiggles were an HQ, you'd be the special character. If squiggles were a way of life, you'd be Doctor Phil...

If you wanna blow yourself up, feel free to use my dice. The amount of 1s my plasma marines get is unfair. Knightley can attest!
