Hey guys, i just bought one of these sets. Does anyone know if the set comes with the "special rules" for these guys, or if they are in a certain White Dwarf? If someone can tell the rules or where to obtain them I would appreciate it!

What's it like as a force? Is it a decent core, and are mostly monster armies a viable thing in AoS?

I havent used it yet so I have no idea! Im starting a lizardmen army and got a awesome deal on this. Also had to buy some other infantry type units.

So far I have this host, a unit of Temple Guard, a unit of Kroxigor's, and one Lord Kroak.

I bought the Kroxigor's and the Lord Kroak because I have $100 of GW credit and wanted something cool that was a web store only purchase. Still going to pick up another unit of temple guard and probably 2-3 units of the Raptor Cavalry... cant remember their names. Not sure about what else.

I looked through all the instructions and did not find the rules for this set... just the individual units. Anyone know the rules off hand before i email gW?

There are no formation rules for what you get in the box. It is just a collection of models at a discount, with the individual rules for them.

The nearest formation for them so far is the ThunderQuake Starhost (or something like that) in the Seraphon book. That does not use the fliers in the box and requires you add either Kroxigor or salamanders/razordons. That formation though is very good - healing monsters and rerolls to hits or wounds and charge or saves. Bastiladons can be in the formation instead of stegadons; with the rerolls to saves (when they immune to rend and they get a chance to ignore mortal wounds) makes them very very tough.

Matt's initial response was true but misleading given your question. You do get all warscrolls in the box, but there are none with 'special' rules for what is in it.
