Hey dakka, FW is starting to release my favorite legion. Can't wait for Scarab occult Termies to be released.
Anyway, here is my dilemma, I'm not sure I'll ever play 30k, but I like the models, and since the 1K Sons
turned to chaos, could I use the FW models as CSM? I know they don't have the 40k Chaos look, but I was also
thinking that I could triple-threat and play them as regular SM. Would this be the logical thing to do?
Main Questions:
-Could I use them as CSM?
-Could I use them as both CSM an SM?
-How would I go about putting a 40k army together out of 30k models?
I know chaos is lacking right now 'dex wise, but there are rumors and such. I'm really into the whole Tzeentch thing,
so I'm hoping he's brought into the spot light. It would work perfectly to have 1K Sons models as CSM with Tzeentch
allies. That's my goal.

What does Dakka think?

Nothing prevents you using 30K models in 40k aslong as they are representative of their rules. I.e. Marine in power armour with bolter is Marine in power armour with bolter.

For thousand sons alot of people run them as Grey Knights in 40K as it adequetly represents their sheer psychic potential spread across their units, in this case you may need to convert the models for force weapons and storm bolters rather than the "man with bolter" approach.

You'd need to be clear with your gaming group what was what, and not be seen to be switching what they count as depending on your opponent (just generally being a good sport about it) and model the wargear appropriately.
