I've got a lot of lootas (I play Deffskulz) and have to rely on them since I recently use Zhadsnark as my warlord, which means no Mek Guns. The problem I have with lootas is that in a Big saquad I lately roll poorly on their D3, so I get 1 shot most of the time. I recently saw this list https://www.frontlinegaming.org/2015/11/15/da-orks-of-legend/ and decided to ty out MSU Lootas. In theory if you use 2 CADs you get 6 5 man units, which means the same amount of shots as 2 15 man squads. But there are some pros - if shot at, you will loose 5 lootas at worst, you gan hold lots of objectives, you can balance out the number of shots. Only problem is leadership, but loosing 70 pts isn't ruining the day. Has anyone tied to use small units of Lootas?

Msu lootas are generally better than large squads. Larger squads are only preferable when you run them in a transport, bunker or footslogging with a megacharacter. Or when you're playing killpoint missions. But you're allready screwed if you're playing killpoint missiojs with orks

You have the right idea. 6 squads of 5 is better than 2 squads of 15. The only reason you would want to consolidate them into larger squads is if you wanted other heavy support choices.

Active armies, still collecting and painting First and greatest love - Orks, Orks, and more Orks largest pile of shame, so many tanks unassembled most complete and painted beautiful models, couldn't resist the swarm will consume all
Armies in disrepair: nothing new since 5th edition oh how I want to revive, but mostly old fantasy demons and some glorious Soul Grinders in need of love

I have found 5 to 9 lootaz are optimal.

Any time I field a unit of 10, I roll nothing going but Ones and Twos on my D3.

Lootaz find cover, go to ground when shot at, and force jinks on Flyers.

I usually bring no less than 30 Lootaz in every list.

The most amazing things they've done were earning First bloblblood and slay the Warlord on some unlucky IG Command Squad hiding in cover, and whittling down a 2+ Ghost keel in cover to its last wound in one round of shooting, which it then survived the rest of the game untouched....
