Hello friends!
So I know there are already 3 Mechanicum lists (Reductor, Taghmata, and Cybernetica) but with clever manipulation of the FOCs I was curious if it was possible to make a 4th, the Centurio Ordinatus.
Now this -does- depend on the ability to ally different Mechanicum lists together, which I am worried was an ability we lost when the Redbook dropped, but the vague outline of the list would be:
Leviathan Detachment FOC
Leviathan Lord of War: Ordinatus Ulator
Lord of War choices: Macharii tanks from 40k using the Autokrator upgrade (not mandatory)
Allied Detachment: Taghmata Omnissiah
Magos Prime Macrotechnicus
Enginseer Auxilia
Triaroses or Macrocarid Explorator
Possible? Terrible? Interesting?

Are you attempting to mix 30K units with 40K? Watching are Triaroses or Macrocarid Explorator? I don't have the new Taghmata Omnissiah army book, but I don't remember any of these units from any of the HH hardbacks.

No those are all 30k units. The Triaros is the Mechanicum DT and the Macrocarid Explorator is the Mechanicum Land Raider redux from the Redbook.

Ah, ok. I see. You are looking at transport options for the allies. What is a Macharii tank? I really need to get that book. What is the mandatory Troop choice in the Taghmata Omnissiah allies?

'macharii tank' sounds like a pluralization of 'macharius tank' to me.
This seems like a good list to use the Archmagos Lachrimallus with adsecularis blobs and a techpreist auxillia lacyraemartra to represent the skitarii tech-gaurd protectorate which would accompany such an engine.

I was using macrotek just because I figured a Magos Ordinatus and his attendant tech-priests would have specialist knowledge of the Ordinatus engine, which would not be entrusted to anyone else (meaning they could be accompanied only by servitors).
For the Taghmata troops, if you take a Macrotek magos, Enginseer Auxilia squads become troops choices.

Actually that rule I think was the same in HH3.
Any other input?

Yeah you're right it was carried over from book 3.
The thing that strikes me the hardest is the leviathan force org doesn't give much room for troops to protect it.
But i wonder if thats even a problem in the first place, considering the ordinatus' shield rules?
i like the fluff about knight malagra's irradiating a titans feet to get the pesky infantry off them, so maybe copy that in a smaller scale using myrmidon destructors with irradiation engines?

Yes! That's a fantastic idea for the heavy support choice!
The small support for the Leviathan in the allies detachment is what made me think of the Centurio Ordinatus in the first place - a small force designed specifically as a support unit for the war-engine, comprising dedicated caretakers, defenders, and maintenance personnel who alone are entrusted with the sacred knowledge of their charge.
Basically, that the Ordinatus is valuable enough to have its own support elements, but arcane enough that its support elements are small and insular. Does that make sense?

The other fun thing about the makrotek is he allows you to take 'one more fortification than it would normally be allowed' which allows you to take a fortification in a leviathan force org chart!
Can an ordinatus fit on a skysheild landing pad?

Stop thinking that way.
Regrettably, no it can't... lol.

Hard to base any real criticism without a points limit/ cap. Is this for an Apocalypse style game?

I think points are irrelavent to him at this stage - i'm getting the feel that he's going for fluffiness, given that the large part of this force is going to be an unbreakable super weapon!
I think a flyer or anti-air support will be nessecary - probably an avenger or a primaris lightning, but spare a thought for sentry guns with drop capsules - that could be a laugh.

Well it's more of a fluff / concept thread.
Usually we play 2k per person, so it be 1075 for the Ordinatus,
My theoretical list would include:
Magos Macrotek with a Machinator Array (140 with nothing else, could carry a Void Shield Harness for the lulz to be 180)
Enginseer Auxilia with Magos Auxilia, extra Adept, 4x Extra Servitors, 8x Servitor Servo Arm, Triaros Conveyor (165 plus 135 for the tank)
Enginseer Auxilia with Magos Auxilia, extra Adept, 4x Extra Servitors, 3x Servitor Servo-arm and 5x Heavy Bolters (215, I think)
So that's 1635 for just my core options, leaving room for some Destructors, or whathaveyou. Paragon of Metal Thanatar? Who knows.

Unless this is an Apocalypse style game, or he is just collecting, then points helps us to help him.
Are you solid on going heavy on Engineers? Loyalist or traitor allegiance? Thoughts on Questoris Knight allies? Draykavac as an HQ, a Knight Archeron as the single troops choice. Add in a few Castellax if the points allow?
Or, lots of blob units of tech thralls backed up by Secutor and Destructors. Both of the Myrmidon units are great for anti-tank and infantry. The tech thralls are a cheap, and if upgraded, a Fearless choice to throw at and tie up other units in a much higher points bracket.
I love using my Thantar Siege-automata. Forcing your opponent to re-roll passed cover saves is nice.

So I am not solid on the Enginseers; advice on what to bring is precisely what I am looking for. However, I do have some following restrictions:
1) I am loyalist
2) I am trying to stay away from the Legio Cybernetica, since they're a separate office within the Mechanicum from the Centurio Ordinatus.
3) The Centurio Ordinatus likely doesn't have as much manpower as say, the factories of a Forge World, which is why I was shying away from tech-thralls, though now that you mention it it may not be out of the question. The biggest Tech-Thrall hangup for me is the Forge World models price per point (which is silly I know).
4) Myrmidons I love, and though the Auxilia Myrmidon is a separate office from the Centurio Ordinatus, I would consider bringing them.
