So, with 30 marines, you can do quite a lot, especially with the wealth of special and heavy upgrades, not to mention the Sergeant wargear.

However, how would you recommend assembling them as, and with?

I could get:
3 squads of Veteran Tactical Squads, with one weapon each
One Veteran Tactical Squad, with two different weapons, and a twenty man Tactical Squad/ two ten-man Tactical Squads
Two Veteran Tactical Squads, with each squad having one different weapon to the other, and a ten man Tactical Squad
Etc, etc.

How would you deal with this?

Personally, I built mine as 2 10-man squads, and then built the other 10 all as special/heavy weapons and sergeants, that way I could make a 10 man and a veteran squad with whatever sets of special weapons I wanted. Then l bought a few more sets of tacs from eBay, and made 1 more 10 man, and the other 20 all special/heavy weapons, so I could mix and match, and make whatever support/heavy/vet squads I wanted, and could juice my 10 man tac squads up in size if desired.

Well, I bought a box too. But I haven't assembled the models yet.
I'll go for one 20 men Tactical used for 30k.
Then I'd start two Dev units with three missile launchers resp. heavy bolters.

Well, I have built two 15 men tactical squads each of which led by a Sergeant wit power fist, plasma gun, and melta bombs.
This is a very solid choice in a game where mission objectives count.
Small units of tactical support units or seeker units are too situational.

15 man Tactical squad.
10 man Veteran Squad with Plasma and Outflank
5 man Veteran Squad with a few Power Swords to ride in a Land Raider with my Praetor (bought seperately) and the Chaplain. These get Furious Charge.

I'll be getting another box though, no doubt about it. I'm very quickly seeing the bonus of the 15 man squads.

Another full box?
I got one box and bought two contemptors via eBay for cheap.

Yep. Need five more Cataphractii for Fulmentarus Terminators, need another 15 Tacticals and the rest can easily become Support, Devestators or whatever. The second Contemptor goes into my other 40k Marine armies. Likely my Blood Angels so the Ultramarines get a Mortis with Kheres cannons and the BA get two fists on their version (in IA: Apocalypse not IA:2).

I'll add an Apothecarius to my Tacticals. They are my only footslogger sang here fnp comes in handy.

Two twenty man tactical squads, one 5 man support squad squad being outfitted with plasma guns, and the other 15 are going to be my Sternguard for 40k, maybe mixed in with some Sternguard kit bits.

The contemptors will get a kheres, the extra chaplain will be a chaplain or something for my 40k army, with his hand replaced with a bolt pistol (probably on both, actually). I might give the extra terminator captain away to a friend.
