So I was reading some of the fluff for the tau in the codex for a sept for my army to hail from. I wanted a recently claimed world that used to be inhabited by humans and came across T'ros. This fit the kind of sept I wanted but there's a problem... Its not listed in the list of Sept worlds or the page with all the colour schemes on it, so I have no idea what the sept colour is. Does anyone know what their Sept colour is?

Probably similar to the next-closest Sept World, since it is likely forces from there are responsible for conquering it.

It is best to be a pessimist. You are usually right and, when you're wrong, you're pleasantly surprised.

I think, but not sure, it was the tau homeworld Sept colours in the fw book, anyone else can confirm?

The forces fighting on T'ros during the Imperial reclamation attempt wore T'au colours, yes.

So would it be fair to say that it's likely the t'au Sept that attacked?

I'll try and remember to look it up properly tomorrow - there will be at least one named commander in the book, which will tell us their planet of origin - but its too late tonight.

I believe so, however.

Those "T'au colors" were not actually sept colors. The true sept colors are the little bright colored stripes on Crisis Suits and the side of Fire Warrior helmets.
The yellow is just standard Tau desert camoflague.

The picture of the FW on pg 81 of the 1st edition has red sept marking indicating either Vior'la or Tash'va. Although it appears to also have tan or white marking (T'au or Fal'shia), so it's unclear.

Edit: it is also possible that warriors from multiple septs were there.

Yeah... the FW in detail's Sept Markings are red and white (three red lines and one white at the back). The vehicles either have red, orange or light blue.

Helpefully, all the named Tau characters have their Sept Names omitted, being referred to as Caste'rank Personal (the Tau equivalent of Firstname Lastname, lol).
