Hi,
For years I have been looking for this game, but I never ever found it in any shop. I think it died before I actullay begin to look for it...
However, there are still some boxes/books etc on the internet, and it is not expensive.
And I just learnt it is Andy Chambers who did the rules.
Did someone played it ? How was it ?
Anyway, happy holidays !

There are a lot of comments on the game (and why it died) over on this recent thread which you may find helpful -

The game died in the end due to licensing costs rocketing due to the then upcoming release of Starship Troopers 3. I have never played the game but a lot of people seem to have enjoyed it.

Lot of good stuff in that thread.

SST had a lot of fans when it launched, but poor plastics (I remember hearing the did not take plastic cement or superglue) lack of Marauder suits at first and the vapor ware drop ships just killed it.

I think in the end Star Ship Troopers was just too limited a universe. The skinnies were greeted with a yawn and the Forth never materialized and that limits growth.

The game engine got the most praise and I'm glad to hear it's still in use.

M8 and M9 Marauders were in the first wave... and the plastics definitely took methyl ethyl ketone or cyanoacrylate. But yeah, the dropships were the biggest absolute disappointment.

The universe was great - but what was done with it was not.

I think the problem, aside from the ones identified from inside Mongoose, was that the game was pretty complete as presented. Hard to expand vertically in the typical "sell stuff to collectors" model that this niche depends on to drive sales. That said, perhaps simpler models and rules could have expanded the market horizontally.

was just at Miniaturemarket's retail store and they had a box of the character figures and one box of the flying aliens on the shelf. I had never seen any of the figures out there before. Still not listed on their website, so it must be one of the employees dumping their unopened boxes or something found in a warehouse somewhere.
