I like the idea that my army isn't fully devoted to chaos. They're more on the renegade side of things. To show this on the tabletop I try to keep them looking disorganized and ragtag, but not chaosy.

Running with this idea, it's not imossible for this army to have various races fighting within it. Currently I have about 85 humans to make up the rank and file infantry (kitbash and mix of Cultists, cadians, and Catachen). A while back I got a few tau (8 fire warriors) as part of bits deal and had them join the ranks.

Now, I want to add more Xenos to the army, both as I did the tau (more basic infantry) but also as specialty units. I'd like to stick to GW miniatures, but if there is something in the fluff that's cool and a different company has a good line of minis I wouldn't be oppose.

Current idea is to add Kroot as Maruaders. Any ideas?

If you're running kroot as marauders, you could put in a couple of ork nobs to use as "brutes", as the statline is basically the same, and fluff-wise some orks do work as mercenaries.

Could be a renegade Rogue Trader army. This opens up lots of possibilities of alien contacts and potential hired mercenaries. Renegade Eldar are viable from Eldar Corsairs and Dark Eldar could be hired for slave take. Hrud (Skaven) are around. Abhumans (Squats/Demiurg, Ratling, Ogryn, beastmen) and mutants are all usable. There are lots of other xeno races in the 40K universe, so you could do pretty much anything you want, using any alien minis you want. http://warhammer40k.wikia.com/wiki/Xenos

There is a lot... any specific ideas? They would have to make sense with the units available to me in the R&H army book. Plus, fluff aside, they'd have to be something I could use semi-competitively.

I'm also interested in running an Inquisitor with them (ally rules aren't too bad). So that opens up the options a little more.
