Why Aye Ya Canny Dakkanaughts!

So I normally use the flying daemon psyker prince of nurgle as the go to daemon lord mainly so my oponent has no chance to get a warlord kill and he can still be effective using his magic everywhere. But recently I've gotten bored of that kind of play style and want to use a different daemon prince.
The only problem is I am not a natural daemon player (I only really use the prince and only a nurgle one at that) so I don't know which to use. At first glance the khorne daemon prince doesn't seem bad to get an initial 6 Str7 attacks ap2 especially against tanks. The daemon prince of tzeentch doesn't seem too bad (if you have warp forge armour then it is the next best thing to a daemon terminator) but it seems like this kind of daemon prince is meant to sit back and soak up wounds whilst using magic on everything and as I have said I am bored of that strategy. Now this is the one I don't understand: daemon prince of slaanesh gets fleet, not bad not brilliant, +3" to run, again it's fine, but why rending? The daemon prince already has smash and is Str6, what is the point to automatically wounding and having ap2 on a 6? +d3 against tanks is nice but not really necessary as your daemon prince won't be the tank hunter in your army.

Have I got the wrong end of the stick with this? I don't really play with the slaanesh mark, at all, so I don't no the strategies behind this.

Help me, teach me!
