So I'm throwing together a nurgle army following the purge detachment, having a decent focus on flame weapons (as I understand it the purge detachment grants flame weapons shred, which im all about). With that, I Intend on giving my chaos lord the burning brand of skalanthrax, and I wanted to know of people's opinions on that decision, like is it worth the point cost?

I would also appreciate any tips and suggestions on how I should handle my warlord, such as any recommended wargear, and if I would benefit from having him attached to a unit or if he's better on his own.

Currently my forces consist of a unit of chosen, 2 units of plague marines, a unit of cultists, a helbrute, and the chaos lord.

Proxy the lord as typhus and upgrade the cultists to zombies.

You could also perhaps convert up some cool chaos spawn and then put your lord with mark of nurgle on a bike with them.

This would make a tough aggressive unit, and would let you get lots of use out of the brand as well.
