I dont own any Imperials but i have a good friend that has a minimal BA army (he has to ally in some IG to even field a 2k list) and hes been wanting to flesh it out.

When the Leviathan came out, and i saw the rules, i figured he would love to get one since he already strives to find a way to use dreadnoughts as it is. I got this about 3 weeks ago but FW messed up my order and didnt send me the 2 guns, i literally got them today (24th dec) lol.

This thing was weird for me to paint lol. Never painted marine schemes before. But considering i have next to no knowledge on chipping effects or OSL, i still think i did pretty damn good.

I dont see any reason to ever take 2 claws or drills, as you can use the rules for both with 1 of each. I do see a reason for 2 cannons though.

For those wondering how i got the wires in there, theyre glued to the arms and simply slot into the back piece of the arm. Even without the paint friction they sorta snap in place as it is. I had to heat it up with a hairdryer to repose them, but i think everybody had to do that lol

I think its off to a good start, but one glaring thing is your decals. They are not blended in at all, and it would go a long way to spend some time on them.

The decals are shining because of my lighting problem. I have a 13W LED on a desklamp for light, which isnt very good for pictures lol. On the table or even just in hand, you gotta look at it just right to see the glare.

I think i need new Matte finish though, since it didnt fully dull the shine.

Course now he wants to commission me to paint the rest of his army lol. Tempting but i am going to be moving soon-ish so would be rather difficult for several months.

Looks awesome. I find decals are looking better after brush painting some gloss coat down first where the decal would go (I use vallejo brush-on)then sticking the decal down, and then matte coat over it. It improved things unbelievably more than how my decals used to work. The outlines virtually dissappear.

Makes 'em stick better, too.

It looks good and congrats on getting such an imposing dread for your force. In regards to decal outlining, the easy fix I've found is to spray or brush a gloss coat over the areas getting decals later. Put the decals on and when dry spray or brush another gloss coat on top. Finish it off with a final single dull coat and you won't see the decals.

The other tip I'd recommend is breaking up the red a bit more on the dread. Any of the usual BA accent colors would work (yellow, blue, white, or even gold) and I'd recommend matching it to whatever CAD slot the dread goes in.

I based the color scheme off of a random google picture of a Blood Angel i found, since i dont own any.

I wanted to break the red up, thats part of the reason i gave him the black kneecaps lol even though i know thats a normal thing for the most part. However i just didnt see any room for anything outside color "fading" tricks and thats really damn hard to do without an airbrush.

My friend i gave this to for christmas both loves and hates me for it lol. Considering its over 100USD with the 4 arms
