These rules are intended to be used within the spirit of the game and are not trying "fix" the game, used in any scenario they should add a little depth and complexity to the mechanics of the game. If you do happen to use these extra's in your games i would love to know how it worked out for you or what you would change in games to come.

Charging now requires you to select a target of the charge and when moving charging models move closest to nearest unbased enemy model in the target unit until no more unbased can based exactly like in Warhammer 40,000, this is called a Focused Charge and if you shot in the shooting phase the charge target must be the same. The player may also choose to do a disordered charge where models in the unit charge in all directions always attempting to base any nearest enemy model in range. Now you must be involved in a combat before you can legally pile and attack in a combat either by charging or being charged and once in combat you are locked in combat unless you retreat willing or unwillingly. You can not make any ranged attack into combat unless you are involved in the same combat and all shots are at -1 to hit.

New initiative system for seeing who fights first, instead of doing you go i go you will choose a particular combat on the table and look at all the units "modified" Armour value(this means include shield's and ability's like mystic shield). now units with no save fight first, followed by 6+,5+,4+ etc etc. If you charged or you recipient of a charge and the unit was not already involved in a combat, had not ran or charged in its previous turn you will get a -1 modifier to the table allowing you to be that bit faster for the first round of the fight.

New Leadership system, Leadership is equal to the units modified bravery value to a maximum of 10, Test leadership every phase the unit takes unsaved wounds or mortal wounds, deduct the amount of wounds from the leadership and test on equal to or less on 2D6, the player May now choose to sacrifice models to raise value to a maximum of Leadership 9, monsters and hero's always use the unmodified leadership value in leadership tests. If a unit fails a test it must immediately retreats towards the owning players own table edge running if the player chooses, if for any reason they cannot complete this move or they are taken off the the table by a result they are immediately destroyed. If a Retreating unit is required to test leadership by unsaved wounds/mortal wound in the hero or shooting phase it test on its unmodified leadership or retreat again passing this test does not count as rallying. A unit that is unwillingly retreating that is the victim of any type of charge must immediately test leadership, if the test is passed it fights as normal, if the test is failed the unit is destroyed.
A unit that is unwillingly retreating can not use any ability in its hero phase, A unit that is unwillingly retreating can attempt to rally at the beginning of its movement phase by testing leadership, if the test is passed it can move act normally if not it is forced to retreat again.

To use the any of these rules you will with your opponent need to discuss how certain ability's effect these rules, example Inspiring presence makes a unit immune to battle shock, so i would say that unit with this put on them always test on their unmodified leadership or if the dwarves half battle-shock rules were in question i would say each model removed counts as 2 when modifying leadership upwards in a test.

So how would you resolve combats with multiple units having the same save?

Just like in 40K where you have multiple combatants fighting at the same initiative step, they would attack simultaneously would they not?
