With the BaC Box set I currently made:

1 tac squad with MM and Combi Melta

Termies all with Lightning Claws

What would you guys do with the rest of the Tac squads and Dread for 40k?

Depends if you have some sweps leftover.
Plasma gun plus combi Plas
Flamer combi flamer or hflamer combi flamer
Grav plus combi grav

Malta on dread might do but overall aside of derdeo or ironclad stuffs useless cause of its rules.

If you don't have any leftovers well bac stuff ain't too much 40kish loudoutwise

Obviously, you get a ton of tactical bolter marines - as many as most people will ever field.

But first, I'd figure out the special weapons, which you get a lot of nice options to choose from. You have THREE each of melta, plasma, and flamer, all of which have their uses. Pick depending on your play style, or magnetize them.

Plus, you get 3 combis for the sergeants! Keep in mind that your options are flamer, melta, or plasma. I personally like combi-meltas, but there's certainly a case for combi plasmas. Also, you get plasma pistols, which are great, though most people don't ever have a shortage of them.

For the heavy weapons, missile launchers aren't the best weapons in the game, but the ML model is really awesome. Besides, the heavy bolter is pretty useless, and I'm not a fan of heavy flamers (the lousy range). Or you could just shelve the HW bits and use stuff from standard Devastator/Tactical boxes.

I don't think the dread is all that useful for 40k.

@Grubass - sadly, no grav in Calth.

True yet as said it depends if you don't have some spares from normal boxes or so.

You are doing yourself a great disservice if you don't put the Kheres Assault Cannon on the Dreadnought. Heck, if you had more than one, I would say cut the arm apart of the second Dread so you can have two Kheres on one of them and run it as a Mortis. Then do the same for the Multi-Melta for the other one. As it stands, the Kheres Assault Cannon is just too cool to pass up with its six rending shots.

Definitely set up the Tacticals with a paired combi and special weapon. I avoid Heavy Weapons on Tactical Marines. It really slows them down as you can't move and shoot.
