I am not sure if this belongs in Tactics/Army list or Conversions since it is kinda both, so I'll put it here until asked to move it.

How playable/acceptable would a small GK nemesis detachment be using Eldar conversions to ally with an Eldar CAD?
Essentially, I want to use Wraithlords mounted on Vyper jetbikes as DreadKngihts with a Wraithguard unit as the Termies (and a Wraithguard "Spiritseer" conversion to be the Librarian).

I would add this to an Eldar CAD with a Farseer, about 18 bikes (50/50 scatters/shuricannons) and a single WraithKngiht & Crimson Hunter. I already have the Wraithlord conversions: http://www.dakkadakka.com/gallery/694171-Corsair%20WraithKnights.html. Since I took that picture, I have actually lowered the stand slightly and magnetized the gun. So I can easily put a Heavy Psycannon/Heavy Incinerator underneath.

I just want some opinions before I buy the Wraithguard to convert and the GK codex

Sounds fun. You should try to paint them in greys, as an homage.

I'm going to be the bad guy here, just so we're clear. But I can take it

No, I wouldn't play you. If you want to have Grey Knights allied with eldar, then I need to see Grey Knights, not Eldar conversions. A heavy psycannon needs to look like a heavy psycannon, not an Eldar lance-thingy. There's also the hilarious idea that not only do you play a ridiculously powerful codex with fast and resilient units, but then you're going to drop a squad of psychic termies and two NDK right in front of me before I actually can even get a shot off.

@jeffersonian000: That'd be tricky. I originally converted those WL's to be Wraithknights before they were GC's. I still use them as WK's in competitive games, but for "friendly" games I want to use the models as something else. Painting them grey would make the "multi-purpose" a bit out of place when using them as 'true' Eldar

I guess that leads me to another question: Would using the models as GK's instead of Wraithknights be more acceptable, or just more cheese of a different flavor? Of course the weapons will be WYSIWYG, since magnets are a thing

As for the WG conversions, I was thinking of building the unit with Axe & shield. The shield is a must since Termies have invuls and the axes can easily be Halberds. I could magnetize one to have a Psycannon one it;'s shield arm and another to have a hammer. The tricky part would be the Librarian/Grand Master. I want it to look like a mini-Wraithseer.

Fluffwise, I want this army to all be Eldar, but the GK elements are uniquely designed Wraith-construct made to destroy Daemons.

It's one thing to proxy because you don't have the models but do have something similar, and it's another thing to counts as because you don't like the correct models yet have a neat theme if you use the convert ones. I think it would be fun to play and to play against, if it looks different from the other faction. My suggestion to paint them grey was to assist with that, hence the homage reference.

Personally, I have an all "Wraith" Iandyn army with coverted Wraithseers and Wraithbikes, just need to get around to painting them. I know of no one that will throw a fit just because my Spiritseers and Jetbikes were modelled as Wraiths (no, the fits will be over them being Eldar, of course).

As long as I can clearly tell that the Jetbike-mounted Wraithlord is a Dreadknight and it doesn't get mixed up with your walking wraithlords, I'll be fine.

Basically I gotta have some way of telling that they're different from your eldar units with just a glance (so if you tell me to "look closer", you've failed).

To that end, I would not use the "general" setup of a shield and axe for your "GK" Wraithblades, since that's a generic loadout available in the normal Eldar Codex. I would recommend using a sword and shield, as that is not normally available. You also need some way to represent the stormbolter. Maybe give the Wraithblades some "Mandiblasters" on their heads. Finally, since you said these were suppose to be constructs in the vein of the Wraithseer, maybe give them that arch thingy at the back of the farseer helmets.

These would make them stand out enough to be acceptable as count-as models.

Hell, I'm not that bothered by the Stormraven. Why? Because, as it stands right now, it's "limited use".When it's shoehorned in to the Codex: Space Marines, then yeah. I'll be irked.

Good points about making them look different.

The "DK's" will have a Heavy Psycannon/Incinerator magnetized under the hull of the Vyper. I'll make that obvious

For the Wraith-termies, I like the mandiblaster idea to represent Stormbolters. I don't have the Wraithblades yet, but I will definetly try to paint them differently from my other Eldar. I don't know about grey/silver though. Seems very 'un-Eldar'

I like that the Nemesis Strike force gives them "Battle-focus" when they arrive (probably for a Webway portal, hehe). That, plus the 1-turn "turboboost" from the DK's Personally Teleporter, should really help make them "play" like Eldar
