First of all Merry Xmas and have a good 2016.

So, I got a total of 20 blood claws and 1 rune priest + drop pod. Got some Cavalry too and some scouts. Im about to paint them, but they are all patched. My question is how to equip them. Those are the units of a friend that bought them from a friend and wants me to paint them. The problem is that we are all noobs. So any suggestions are welcome. Please note that we dont have any Wolf Guards so we have to do it with 20 blood claws and a rune priest.

Buddy of mine runs his in min squads of 5, each with a "hidden powerfist" and occasionally a power sword on the sergeant. They do pretty okay.

#1] Keep it simple.

The Rune Priest is only ok as a Blood Claw Leader, Divination would be the best choice as powers for him.

As for as the Blood Claws, you can use them as Grey Hunters, Blood Claws or even Wolf Guard.

This is what I would do.
Make it a 15 model Pack.
Give one a Power Fist or Power Axe, maybe Flamer(s) or Possibly Melta-Gun(s). I am not a fan of the Melta-Guns because Blood Claws should not be fighting stuff that need Melta-Guns.
Make one a Wolf Guard Pack Leader with a Power Sword, Power Lance or Power Maul (In that order). Possibly a Storm Shield. Melta-Bombs is not a bad choice.
If you can make one a Wolf Priest (Or Ulrik), this is your best choice to lead them.
Transport: Storm Wolf is the best in my opinion.

If you want make use of the Drop Pod for them, just 5, 1 with a Melta-Gun, WGPL with a Combi-Melta.

You could bring them in on a Stormwolf with hopefully outflank if you have a rune priest with them its rolling from the Wolves Unleashed Detachment. Auto arrive on turn 2 (detachment special rule to allow 1 reserve to auto arrive each turn) from the flanks and charge nearly any point on the board turn 3. Load them up with a hidden power fist and maybe a WGPL with 2x Wolf Claws. Outside of that you could just take min squads in drop pods of rhinos to act as distractions or objective grabbers. Land Raider Crusader is another option but I would rather take them in a Stormwolf.

"Hold my shoota, I'm goin in"

7000+ Points Death Skullz
4000 Points
+ + 3000 Points "The Fiery Heart of the Emperor"
3500 Points "Void Kraken" Space Marines

I have been using a Landing Pad with Ready For Take Off with good effect for turn 2 Assaults.
