Reinforce
Ships with the Reinforce action icon in their action bar may perform
the reinforce action. To perform this action, place one
reinforce token next to either the fore or aft section of the ship.
When a ship with a reinforce token is defending, the reinforce
token adds one evade result to its defense roll, but only if that token
is assigned to the targeted section.
This effect does not spend the reinforce token; thus, a reinforce token can
provide this effect for multiple attacks during a single round.
During the End phase, remove all reinforce tokens along with focus and
evade tokens.

Stupid question, if the huge ship does not get a defense roll, being at or with in range two and no obstruction does the reinforce apply? I want to say yes, but with some of the distinctions between suffer and deal, I wanted to make sure.

Yes.

You roll 0 dice in the "roll defence dice" step then add one evade to the result.

The wise man doubts often, and changes his mind; the fool is obstinate, and doubts not; he knows all things but his own ignorance.

The correct statement of individual rights is that everyone has the right to an opinion, but crucially, that opinion can be roundly ignored and even made fun of, particularly if it is demonstrably nonsense!” Professor Brian Cox

In X-Wing there is no such thing as not getting a roll. You always go through the entire process of resolving a shot, including rolling dice, regardless of how many dice are rolled. If a ship is rolling zero dice for some reason then you still roll those zero dice, have the ability to spend focus tokens to modify them, etc. It's just usually a very fast resolution of the shot, and most people won't explicitly state that they're rolling zero dice unless something depends on them.

There is no such thing as a hobby without politics. "Leave politics at the door" is itself a political statement, an endorsement of the status quo and an attempt to silence dissenting voices.
