Hi there dakkanauts, as the topic title suggests I've just started getting back into 40k after 10 odd years out of the hobby and a lot has changed to say the least lol. I've had a few games with a friends spare army and I think I'm finally starting to get the hang of all the rule changes and additions I have been toying with the idea of starting a renegade guard army with dark mechanicus allies and after looking at the renegade and heretic army list in the IA13 book I'm not entirely sure its what im looking for... I was wandering if anyone could help me find a list that's more along the lines of the "blood pact" that are in a few of the gaunts ghosts novels as im looking for a more well trained and disciplined theme rather than just riff raff running around with pick axes and stub pistols. I absolutely love the new scion models and think they would be a great base model for me to start my renegade army with (obviously with a few chaosy conversions) if no such list is out there do you think I would be alright using the basic tempestus codex to write my list or should I just man up and stick with the renegades list out of IA13???

Thanks war kitten I will look into it Think I might have to use the scions as veterans or enforcers as I didn't realise they were £21 for 5 :/
Probably going to pick up a few of the cadian defence force box's, some chaosy bits and green stuff and just let my imagination go nuts
