I just built myself a Sky Ray Gunship and noticed there looks to be sufficient parts to build the Hammerhead variant using a devilfish box.

Basically I just want to know if it can be done? I've never purchased a Devilfish so not sure if the sprue is identical to that of the Hammerhead body.

i'm building a tank heavy list, so this method could save me a lot of money!

The Skyray, Devilfish and Hammerhead all use the same basic hull sprue. The main difference is the turret, nose mounted weapon and "drones" (the Hammerhead replaces them with Smart Missiles I think).

It's kinda like how the Space Marine Predator Kit is basically a Rhino with the Predator's Turret and Sponsons.

I don't have the new codex but I think the hammerhead can take normal drones so perhaps it may work. You can always green stuff or mod the turret turret to take out the burst cannon.

If you didn't glue the back part with the seeker missiles on you can make a hammerhead from the sky ray box.

The Devilfish kit is identical to the Hammerhead kit except the Hammerhead contains an extra sprue frame with the various Hammerhead weapons. You can change a Devilfish to a Hammerhead by swapping the gun drones for the wingtip weapon pods, and swapping the Devilfish commander cupola for the Hammerhead turret.

The other thing that is different is that the Devilfish as a burst cannon in its chin turret, where the Hammerhead has a small sensor array.

If you have already built your Devilfish and cemented all the parts into place, it is still possible to saw them off carefully and magnetize them to swap them easily with the Hammerhead parts.
