good morning gentlemen
SO a little while back i started a renegade guard army using the Siege of Vraks rule set... In this book a basalisk with a chasee costs 115 points while a towed/emplacement basalisk with 4 crew members cost 55 points .... i currently own 6 total standard basalisk and wanted your opinion on whether or not it would be worth it to run 6 em-placed basalisk ( with some good scratch building and converting) and 6 salamanders for 55 points per basalisk and 45 per salamander. putting the cost for 1 basalisk and 1 salamander ( with +1 BS, 10 point upgrade ) at 110 points while just one standard basalisk sits at 115 points ....
It seems like a great option i think, what is your opinion on this ?
does anyone use salamanders, are they at least decent, what should i kit them out with? (auto cannons and hvy flamers ???)
are they a waste of points ?? should i make them into griffons instead for 35 points each, putting more templates on the table
and what kind of conversions have yous seen to make basalisk chasees into salamanders and basalisk into emplacements.
