Subject: Has anyone used Beasts of Nurgle?

As stated in the subject field. My buddy's looking at using a unit of 3 in a "fast" mostly Nurgle 1000 point Demon list. I thought that in the current state of 40K a fast tar-pitting unit that is hard to kill could be pretty useful. However, I have literally never seen anyone play them, so I have no first-hand knowledge. Thoughts?

They're certainly over costed. I use them in larger games just to race down the edges, out of the action to the enemy deployment zone and harass enemy snipers and heavy weapons etc. The ignore terrain thing is good for that. Their low weapon skill and random attacks mean they tarpit themselves as often as they tarpit anyone else. They do tend to hang around and get me a secondary VP.

I'd take plague drones over beasts, personally.

I played one game against them and they didnt really impress me at all, but then again I ran them over with an Ironclad Dread.

I've played against Beasts of nurgle. They are fast and survivable. If you don't have something that can handle them, they can do alot of work.
A friend runs Beasts of Nurgle backed up by some Soul Grinders, and psychic Demon Princes, and a Great Unclean One. He can roll over lots of people.

I agree Blight Drones are more dangerous, but Beasts don't compete directly as they're in a different slot.
They do have the nice advantage that you can field very small units for very few points. Like Nurglings, they make for nice cheap objective holders - fast, hard to take down without using disproportionate firepower, and expendable.
Nurgle is probably one of the best-rounded powers.
The Plague Drones, Daemon Princes and Great Unclean Ones do the killing, Soulgrinders do the shooting, Nurglings and Beasts do the objective-capturing, and plaguebearers do the dying (on behalf of the heralds snug and safe inside the unit).
