I recently bought the Black Betty model from Painting Buddha and the freehand DVD's it came with motivated me to get some practice in.

I know they arent the greatest but I do feel like it was good practice and I enjoyed painting the theme I went with. It was a huge mistake doing orange over black, I think Ill have a much easier time in the future
with white.

Looks beautiful, but seriously out of place. Koi art in a tattoo style in 40k, on a war machine? Gorgeous painting, though.

I really like that.

Good stuff!

I actually like the designs and think they fit rather nicely. I can see servitors and master craftsmen of the Knight's household labouring in every spare moment between battles to preserve these symbols and patterns, not knowing what meaning they hold to their master but toiling away nonetheless. It's got that juxtaposition of overblown ostentatiousness and gritty practicality (in the weathering, metal work and hazard stripes) that sums up 40k perfectly!

Weird juxtaposition, but thats what makes it so great. Good to see something new on a knight.

I know next to no fluff, so it was strictly what I felt like practicing. I did find them oddly soothing though.

Hey thanks. Its kind of a thing I see in a lot of the worlds militaries, they make sure the flashy paint is crisp while the hull rots underneath. I dont think its just a 40k thing, its inherently human.

Theres a lot of great Knights out there, so its certainly hard at this point to do something different. I hadnt seen this yet, but Im sure someone else could do it much better.
