This may be an obvious answer to some, but I do not see anything in the rulebook specific about it. Perhaps I'm just missing it.

No they do not.

Yes you can.

Nope. Formations are the faction of their datasheet.

No restrictions regarding other faction's detachments exist for purchasing, but can affect what happens when deploying and during the game.

Possible, but can be difficult or expensive to arrange without going Unbound.

Also remember the Harlequin rides, too.
