So I'm gonna get a GUO because it's a great looking model and should be a blast to paint. What are the best ways to run them? Mid field distraction-fex? Objective camper?

But seriously its just ok. With a Balesword and some extra durability from rewards and psychic powers it will do some serious damage while also being very hard to kill but it is too bloody slow. Only moving 6" and not being able to run means it won't catch anything in assault which is all it can do.

It only has two ways to be played. Either deep striking in your opponents face so that they have to deal with it which has the same risks deep striking always has. Or you park it on an objective and counter assault any unit that comes by. Either way you have to find a way to make your opponent come to the GUO so that it can do some work because its too expensive for it to just sit around and not do anything.

Plague bearers with an instrument deepstriking and taking GUO with them.

Push plague-drones with an instrument deep into enemy territory on turn 1 and put them in cover for that sick 2+ jink save, then DS the GUO in without scatter on turn 2 right next to the enemy- charge on turn 3.

Plague drones don't get a 2+ jink save from being in cover, they get it because all Daemons of Nurgle are shrouded and they're in cover... They are jet-pack cavalry. They can't jink

You definitely want to deep strike him. He is way too slow unless you want to have the world's most expensive objective babysitter. Nurglings are a lot less expensive and certainly more durable for the points. You want to utilize his MC stat line to munch on the dudes that your opponent put in his backfield to try and hold their objective. That being said, you probably also want some sort of reserves manipulator if you can manage it (coming in on a 3+ seems nice until you fail 2 in a row and can't charge until turn 5)

Stick it in the middle of your deployment zone and wait for you opponent to shoot it with all of their guns turn after turn after turn and watch it not die,ever, as you slowly walk the rest of your army towards them and overwhelm them with pustulent infantry hordes....

Walk him to an objective and hope your enemy is dumb enough to take something weak there. Games most expensive letterweight.
Anyone smart enough will never let him get close enough.
Balesword and lucky biomancy rolls and he might do something. Waste of points 90% of the time.

Hes an almost unkillable Summoning Platform. Use that to your advantage. Park him on an Objective, give him 2 Greater Rewards and a Lesser for a Plague Flail or w/e and just summon crap with him each turn. throw w/e you summon around the board and unless your opponent wants to either A) dedicate and entire armies worth of shooting at it to dislodge his fat ass off said objective. B) throw something melee at it and hope to god they can survive long enough to get board supremacy.

Chances are neither A nor B will work entirely and the stupid thing will STILL be there end of the game continuously pulling on said slot machine and funding your states tax budget....We are talking about Overweight Slot Addicts right?...

Deep strike him right in your enemies face, assault something that isn't a walker.

As far as choices go he would be my possession choice. Lands on the table, big ole base, great objective camper since even if he gets overwhelmed he has some nova powers and the like to help him get out of it
