Looking at the US GW site its showing the resin Ork Warboss with Squig as being no longer available. Now it seems that its just down to the old metal Big Choppa Warboss, Fantasy Orc Warboss on Boar, and Ghazzy remain as GW sources for potential Warboss models. Think this is a sign that GW has a plastic boss in the works to replace this model or just that GW is uninterested in making another production batch of resin kits and letting it go by the wayside.

I think you might see a new ork warboss in the future, possible in another campaign box. GW has been trying to phase out as much of the current fine cast model as possible.

Lets hope on an Imminent Ork release Supported with a brand new replacement of the discontinued IA8.

I find it kinda strange how big things like these happen: Warboss out of stock. The best ork HQ Da rippa lost its rules, all FW lords lords of war lots its status etc. and no mayor rumour site picks it up. This would be hot and buzzing if it was happening to marines.

I'm guessing they'll just do a wide release of Gruk Facerippa as a plastic Warboss. They've been releasing a bunch of the more limited release character models lately.

Check out my Youtube channel!

Probably will see Grukk as a plastic clam pack or part of an Ork starter box but it would be really nice if they made a full on kit with all the wargear options including a bike (similar to the Tau Commander kit).

I wouldn't count on it. It'll probably be more akin to the different Space Marine Clampacks. Monopose, but easily customizable. I wouldn't mind the Stormclaw Warboss seeing wider release the way Captain Karlaen did.

Nah we'll just get Grukk. No sense GW putting effort into something that's not a Mary Sue army.

Grukk is a pretty neat looking model, at least.

True Grukk looks nice but ... how should I put it politely.
He is not a Biker boss nor a mega bozz with a lucky stick. He is just a nude HQ with I1 and a fierce looking useless pet

Maybe they'll release Grukk, then a resin "upgrade pack" from FW with a warbike and Mega Armor.

Guys, there already is a fully customizable mega-armored warboss kit.

It's called the Mega Armored Nobz kit. Just pimp one of them out as your warboss, he has all the exact same options the meganobz have besides the attack squig, and it's not like squig models are all that hard to find if you want one...

Also I think FW does have a warboss on bike. Don't they?

GW's treatment of Ork HQs has been pretty naff for a long time.

For a VERY long time, all Ork players pretty much relied on the Assault on Black Reach box set. Whoever at Games Workshop came up with that box set I hope got a promotion, because Ork players were buying that box for Boyz, the Warboss, and the Deffkoptas for YEARS.

But then we got nothing.

GW never released a Mega Armor Warboss besides Ghaz. Why the new MegaNob kit didn't include an option for a Mega Warboss I have no idea. It's great they included bits for a Big Mek though!

Grukk was nice... but the set that he was a part of isn't even purchasable anymore! Fortunately I snapped up mine... who knows if he'll ever be in print again.

Our KFF Big Mek model has been gone for a long time now. It's one of the mainstays of the Ork army and now it just isn't there.

We've never gotten a Biker Boss (other than the Forgewold variant) or a Biker Big Mek.

Instead we got a new Painboy model and a new Shokk Attack Gun model. Both models are worse than their old metal counterparts, we just got them because GW didn't want to Finecast those two older HQs.

to be fair there is so many AOBR warbosses floating around on ebay that getting one isn't really a problem, and unless your doing a bike or mega armor his load out is what your going to take.

Valid points above. Sure, FW sells a Warboss on a bike. I think what many Ork players would like to see are models from the main codex with standard war gear options available for sale. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy converting models, and some people have very creative conversions, many of them are better than the Citadel minis. It's just weird that GW doesn't sell a Big Mek with KFF on a bike, Big Mek with SAG on a bike, Painboy on a Bike, etc. These are units in the main Ork codex with a popular war gear option. You would think that GW would sell these models.

Perhaps their Accounting department ran a cost/benefit analysis and told them it would be too time consuming to sculpt those models, and not enough people would buy them. On the other hand, someone gave the green light to the Gorkanaut, so... who knows.

It's true, it stinks that we don't have a nice HQ kit but I kind of like the Orks being the "mix n match kits" army.

I'm happy to use Nob, Meganob, Flash Git scale bits to construct any boss I need. Does suck that the warbike is a little small, that's why I used a wartrakk and spare bits from my flyer kit (all the extra jet engines and whatnot) to make my biker boss. Though he used to be Wazdakka.

The real crime is that orks are the "these guys are wild and crazy and full of character" codex and they have so few/so wimpy special characters. Ghaz, Zagstruk, Grotsnik etc are incredibly boring with basically no interesting rules, and the coolest characters got removed.

The other problem with Orks is that, because they grow with age, they're not really as mix-and-match as other comparable races (you can make an autarch out of a Dire Avengers kit, but barely a Warboss out of Nobz kit).

Maybe even...... a new warbuggy?

I would love a warbuggy based on the artwork in IA8.

I'm not surprised that they don't have bike options for the orks, even marine players have to cut and paste if they want any HQ on a bike or jet pack unless it's a captain and maybe a chaplain.

GW doesn't sell a marine captain, librarian, techmarine, etc. on a bike either.

At least he has a bike option.
