Here is a list that I'm considering taking to a tournament this Saturday:
Blood Host Detachment
Slaughtercult:
Chaos Lord: Juggernaut, Power Fist, Axe of Khorne, Sigil of Corruption, The Skull-helm of Khorne (215)
3x Chaos Spawn (96)
Possessed (150)
Bloodletters: Bloodreaper upgrade (85)
Chaos Space Marines: 2x extra Marines, 2x Meltagun, Pistol/CCW loadout for non-melta Marines, added CCW for melta marines, Power Maul for Champion, Chaos Rhino (234)
Lord of Slaughter:
Bloodthirster of Insensate Rage (275)
Khorne's Bloodstorm:
Raptors: Flamer, Power Sword and Plasma Pistol for Champion (140)
Raptors: 2x Meltagun, Power Sword for Champion (140)
Warp Talons (180)
Heldrake: Baleflamer (170)
War Engine:
Soul Grinder: Phlegm Bombardment (165)
Total 1850
I pretty much always play WYSIWYG, that is the reason why the one Raptor Champion has too much bling. I probably could just say the Raptor champions' swords are regular CCWs; that would save 30 points to use on something else. What I mainly want advice on is this:
1: Are Chaos Spawn any good? I was planning on running the Juggerlord with these guys; I worry that they might be too squishy with no built-in saves.
2: Should I shuffle some points around and take Blood-forged armor on my Chaos Lord instead of the Skull-helm?
3: For the CSM, should the champion take a different weapon instead of a maul? I have a figure with an axe I could use instead, or I could make one real quick with a sword.
4: Would I be better served by taking a CAD and the Bloodstorm formation (I have my heart set on the formation) instead of the Blood Host; I could then take Flesh Hounds instead of Spawn. I would run the Gorepack, but I don't have any chaos bikers. I'm already going to have to borrow the spawn models.
5: Should I take Melta Bombs on my Raptors or CSM?
Any constructive advice is appreciated!

1. You are basically paying 96 points to ignore 9 wounds on your warlord, it's up to you if you think it isn't worth it.
2. I would take the armour over the helm any day.
3.I would take the power sword, but besides that you have 7 marines in that squad so only one melta can be taken, you need 10 men to take 2 meltas. Although your champion could take a combi-melta.
4. Whichever you feel more comfortable playing: both could work.

Skell helm is not very useful.
Break up the spawn
Take off the blood reaper upgrade
Replace csm with blood letters
Add cultists
Khorne's Bloodstorm? Nope.
Plasma pistol. Useless.
Power sword is bad. Put on meltabombs.
What's up with your formation? You might want to take a look at it, revise it.
If your going to go to a tournament with this list, your gonna struggle a lot man.
Regardless of my harsh comments, remember, its just a game. Kind of expensive, but still just a game. So just have fun!!!

@mrhappyface: I have 10 men in the CSM squad; I always run them at that strength so I can take two specials (and I always take meltas). I think I will do the armor instead of the helm, although the helm usually helps me a little. I'll probably drop the power swords on the Raptors, as well as the plasma pistol, to make the points. I've never used spawn, so I think I will keep them in so I can see how they do. If they are really useful, I may pick up a few of my own.
@FOR THE FRIGGIN EMPEROR: Points well taken; as I said above I will drop the plasma pistol. Not sure why I should split up the spawn since I am using them mainly as ablative wounds for the Chaos Lord. The CSM are there mainly for the meltaguns and because they are somewhat less squishy than Bloodletters. I usually take cultists, but I didn't have room for them in the list. I will try to work in meltabombs on the Raptors. I realize that the Bloodstorm is not terribly competitive, but neither am I. I don't think I would win the tournament even if I had a super-OP cheese list. I'm only going because its a chance to spend a day pushing models around and throwing dice with some buddies. If I can actually do at least okay and not get totally crushed, so much the better, hence why I posted.
Here is a revised version of the list taking into account some of the above suggestions:
Blood Host Detachment
Slaughtercult:
Chaos Lord: Juggernaut, Power Fist, Axe of Khorne, Sigil of Corruption, The Blood-forged Armor (250)
3x Chaos Spawn (96)
Possessed (150)
Bloodletters: Bloodreaper upgrade (85)
Chaos Space Marines: 2x extra Marines, 2x Meltagun, Pistol/CCW loadout for non-melta Marines, added CCW for melta marines, Power Sword for Champion, Chaos Rhino (234)
Lord of Slaughter:
Bloodthirster of Insensate Rage (275)
Khorne's Bloodstorm:
Raptors: Flamer, Melta bombs (115)
Raptors: 2x Meltagun, Melta bombs (130)
Warp Talons (180)
Heldrake: Baleflamer (170)
War Engine:
Soul Grinder: Phlegm Bombardment (165)
Total 1850
This does look a bit more solid. Not top-tier competitive (mainly because no gorepack lol!), but it should be better than if I took the original list.

It all depends on how you want to play your army...
I love the Blood Tithe table, so I agree with the above and splitting up the Spawn... Do you have enough models to take the charnel cohort instead of the bloodstorm? Running your Juggerlord with hounds is much better since it will allow you to scout him as well, plus they have 10 wounds and a 5+ invun instead of no save at all.
I use 2 spawn in almost every game as cannon/overwatch fodder. Run them as 2 separate units and if they make it to the enemy charge them before anything else that charges. With the fleet I normally make it in (if they survive), then I can free charge in the rest of my units.
I would try Bloodhost with Charnel or Gorepack. The rest of the formation really don't work very well for KDK if you are working off the blood tithes, overpriced in points. Automatically Appended Next Post: oh and if you have a Charnel you can take SKULL CANNONS!!!!! I love them
