Now that's what I call a paint job. Love the weathering.

That is an awesome job on the painting, it looks *metal* in both senses of the word \m/

Absolutely love the weathering job as well, very well done!

It's a cracking paint job but my favourite part is the green-lit pilot in the cockpit. A really nice touch.

I'm not a fan of the base personally - but I love everything else.

Bye bye Dakkadakka, happy hobbying! I really enjoyed my time on here. Opinions were always my own :-)

Nice!! I like the green-lit cockpit too

I'm with Bottle on the base as well, the goo isn't my thing, but it is pretty neat!

Congrats on a nice SR!

I love the cockpit lighting look but the gooey base is kind of funny because it looks like the gunship is trying to pull itself from the goo pit and its been held back by a stringy gloopy strand like in a cartoon lol

Ask of me, and I will make the nations your heritage,
and the ends of the earth your possession. You shall break them with a rod of iron and dash them in pieces like a potter’s vessel. Now therefore, O kings, be wise; be warned, O rulers of the earth. Serve the Lord with fear, and rejoice with trembling. Kiss the Son,
lest he be angry, and you perish in the way,
for his wrath is quickly kindled. Blessed are all who take refuge in him.

Thanks for the comments guys!

The base seems to be a bit of a contentious issue and I have to say on reflection, I agree... I think it was a nice idea but the execution isn't right. I think I'll be re-basing it at some point!

@ chaosmarauder – I primed it with Vallejo German Redbrown, added shadows with Vallejo Model Air Black and highlights with White followed by Yellow. Then the whole model got a couple of coats of Red RLM 23 (which is fairly transparent so shows the shadows and highlights underneath.

The green goop on the base looks fine to me, its the rocky edges that bug me. They look sooooo fake lol.

The model itself is dynamite. Great highlights, clean work, proper chipping, etc.

An ork with an idea tends to end with a bang.

Looks good Luther! I like the black cockpits which break up the large red parts of the model nicely - will have to steal that idea for my stormraven when I paint it

The SR's one of my absolute least favourite GW models.

Having said that, I think the work you've done on it is amazing - the weathering and detailing's just absolutely spot-on. Fantastic work. I'd love to see that quality of finish on something like a Storm Eagle!

Not a fan of the base, I'm afraid ... looks like the SR's being used as a skyhook to transport a Nurgle doughnut!
