Suppose a 13th company wolf lord joins a pack of fenrisian wolves, how would they move?

I'm thinking that they will move at the slowest rate in both the movement and the assault phase.  So 6+D6" move and a 6" assault.

Is that right?  Is there a restriction to prevent that in the first place?

You always move at the pace of the slowest model, so basically 6" in the movement phase (movement of the wolves), no fleet in the shooting phase (Lord doesn't have it), and 6" in the Assault Phase (Lord's movement). So basically, you are shooting yourself in the foot if you have him jion the squad. Bettter to run him right next to the Pack as he gets protection from being an independent character and can reach the Wolves assault shorty after they get there and turn the tide.

Current Armies: Blood Angels, Imperial Guard (40k), Skorne, Retribution (Warmachine), Vampire Counts (Fantasy)

But the lord has a 12" move, and 6 + D6 can never go over 12".

I can see your point as that fleet takes place in the shooting phase, so the lord is not going to be able to do that.

The reason to have him attached to the squad is that with mark of wulfen, the unit the lord is attached to is fearless and hit on a 3+ in HtH.

Makes a big difference.

Right, but the D6" move happens in a different phase than the 12" move. The 12" move has already been truncated to 6" by the time the D6" comes around.

Sorry mate, no dice.

Thats a good point. Simply have the lord follow the wolves without joining them, then join on the turn you plan to assault. It will be tricky since your movement/assault ranges will be limited that final turn, so you must think ahead and prepare for it.

Yeah, you guys are right. I'm so used to rolling fleet in the movement phase, I actually forgot that fleet takes place in shooting.
