Looking for some thoughts/feedback on this list I'm putting together. I'm really struggling to figure out what to do with the troops.

Here's the plan:

- Typhon and the Grave Wardens are the armored spearhead in the spartan party bus.
- Breachers are tough objective campers who can get there reasonably fast in the proteus.
- Tactical Squad is the back field gunline (which can walk forward if neccessary), accompanied by the apothecary and the Master of the Signal for +1 BS.
- Veterans will be a decent mobile harassment unit with sniper and can also cap objectives in a pinch.
- Deredeo provides fire support and anti air.
- Typhon blasts squads and vehicles to bits.

Given the slowness of The Reaping, I thought it wise to mount up in vehicles as to not get left in the dust in objective games.

There is a TON of barrage and pie plates in this list: Typhon's chem bombardment, the Master of Signal's bombardment, the Typhon,and the Deredeo's launcher, (not mention the Vet missiles) which all should reasonably deal with massed infantry.

The Protetus and the Spartan will provide the heavy anti armor, while the Deredeo's autocannons and Vet missiles can deal with light armor. I well aware of how great the Sicarian is (as I own one) but I love the Deredeo and it's more fluffy for the death guard.

The big question is, do I need more bodies? I'm not sure about the Vets, or how I set up my tactical squad. I had looked at Heavy Support Missile squads in the Troops section, but I feel like they'll get blasted off the table immediately if they're on foot, and veterans are just a better choice. I left off armored ceramite because I don't imagine anybody brings melta weapons in 30K anymore...

Any critiques or thoughts are welcome!

we're death guard, we ALWAYS want more bodies . Another tactical squad (with apothecary for both larger tacticals) and a squad or two of heavy support teams would bulk you out, and make your walking 15 (I like making them 20 'cause it's a pain to kill) tactical squads terrain-ignoring FNP-loving rad-grenade toting monsters (if you give them the extra CCW, that is). Since you can't run them, you may as well give your tactical squad more bodies, and apothecary, extra CCW, and rad grenade (effective on the table, and super fluff accurate for DG) this makes them a threat for CC once you get there, and it gives you the durability to actually get there as well. Don't forget that Typhon's + the Master of Ordinances' Blasts are one us, so don't count on them for more then 1 good blast.

Tactically, I wouldn't hold back with the tacticals. since you loose the ability to run, moving that 6" every turn untill you at least get into rapid-fire range is important. With the reaping, I personally run at least 2 larger squads of tacticals just because you NEED the board coverage with the lack of mobility in the army, even with your transports. When I play the reaping, most of my infantry foot slog it, start right on the edge of my deployment, and march. You actually don't notice the speed drop to poorly until one of the armies is shattered come turn 5 or 6 and you NEED to close a gap. it also helps that your entire army suddenly can wiggle through ruins like no tomorrow as well

List wise: I'd probably drop the breachers (and their raider) and take a kitted out 20-man tactical, bulk up your other one, bring another apothecary, and fit in an autocannon or ML squad. While I love breachers, they are super expensive for what they give you.

That's my 2 cents, though build and play what you think looks cool.

That's all terrific feedback! Thanks for your wisdom I think I will add the larger tactical squads. I kept away from that originally because of the monetary cost of huge squads, but HH is going to be pricey no matter what I guess!

I second BrennonJW's advice. When I run the reaping I usually have at least 2 full sized tactical squads with apothocaries and CCW, no less than 2 heavy support squads, and I usually have rask or a siege breaker in there too. I also am a big fan of thudd guns and artillery since I my HQs often have the nuncio vox they stay pretty on target since somebody usually can see something.
