Hey all,
Local meta at my shop is 2k points typically, and with the number of wraithknight and tau gargantuans/big things around, I figured, just for fun, I'd build an Exalted court, without further ado, here's my proposed list:
(Warlord) Knight Crusader
Stormspear rocket
Sanctuary
Knight Warden
Gauntlet
Stormspear Rockets
Knight Paladin
Stormspear Rocket
Knight Gallant
Helm of the Nameless
Knight Gallant
This list, as it stands comes out to exactly 2000 points.

With Wraith Knights being in your meta I would suggest finding room for a Knight Lancer if you have access to one. It is pretty much the only knight that has a decent chance against a Wraith Knight.
Is your Crusader running with a Thermal cannon? It might be something worth considering.
I feel this is a pretty decent guide for deciding what knights you want, despite being a little old and missing the atrapos which is an errant on steroids in function. https://www.frontlinegaming.org/2015/05/31/imperial-knights-7e-making-a-knight-primary-army/
I have learned that knights tend to be better as allies to other armies rather than a main force. So your mileage may vary. I personally, have struggled against eldar with them, but then again I can expect to see 3 - 4+ WK in a list in my local meta.
Grav stuff probably deals with WK the best. Good luck to you, and may you have fun.

Yeah, our meta tends to be much less about being hard, as it is having fun. As such, even the guy who brings 3 riptides is still fun to play against. On the eldar front, I tend to face 1-2 WK, but a number of other things that deliver the D.
-The crusader comes standard with the Thermal Cannon (the rapid-fire battle cannon is extra)
-Ultimately, this list is probably more of an excuse for me to get a bunch of knights (gotta justify them to the wife somehow right?), and as such while I'd like to be able to win/compete, ultimately fun in the shop is more where it's at.
On the Eldar front, realizing that they strike first in CC means that I'm hoping to "overwhelm" them by charging/having both of the Gallants together in combat as much as possible.

For fun? Best to rush both gallants at the 2 WK and pray the apoc blast kills the WK with it as the WK i5 will surely kill the IKs.
Against MCs and GMC, a Wardens Avenger Gatling cannon will be good compared to a single thermal shot or 2 rapid battle cannons.
2k is too much in my meta. 1850 is the boundry.
I run 4 Wardens and 1 Gallant and spend the remaining 25 on 5 meltaguns all at 1850pts.
Good luck and I mean it. I have seen my knights get tabled by arc rifles, melta spam, etc...And Wraithknights close combat GhostGlaive and shield.

Only reason I mention the thermal cannon is because his list doesn't have much else for cracking high av vehicles, and you want the D stuff going after other targets ideally. The stormspear is good (best option really) but the thermal cannon can make a huge difference in cracking high av vehicles. I agree with you that the AGC is stellar weapon for what it does. an Atrapos trumps the errant in every way so if you ever run an errant run a Atrapos instead if you have the points. I really like the castigator for dealing with hordes. Though that may not be an option.
Yeah, knights are surprisingly fragile. The sad thing is they would be MUCH better if they were GMCs. As is they are a little squishy. Probably why most sane and reasonable people don't complain about them much.

I wish i had spent my money on the atropas and a castigator. Unfortunately I did not and here I am stuck with these short knights.

It's not all bad. It isn't too difficult to magnetize them so it should give you some versatility there. Besides you need to have at least one regular knight to run any of the others anyway. And forgeworld stuff is expensive. I am kinda mixed on the atrapos. It has great rules, but is a little ugly looking imo. Kinda like the hunchback of notre dame's ugly sister or brother whatever. Regular knights really aren't a bad place to start. Like I said, they are pretty versatile when it comes to magnetizing them. Gives you a lot of bang for your buck.
