A Skull at the Throne of Khorne

I am just getting back to 40k by learning the 7th edition rules, watching a ton of battle reports on Youtube and trying to figure out how my armies would best transform into todays detachments. I used to play mostly chaos in 3rd/4th ed, and I've always wanted Khârn. I still haven't spent any money on this "round 2" of the hobby, but I decided to make Kharn myself. I had parts from csm, khorne berzerkers, the old possessed csm and a ton of others to work with.

Here's the guy, a bit WIP:

I think he still needs at least some chains on the Gorechild hand. A more dramatic base would also be nice. Thoughts on further modelling and/or using him in games?

EDIT: Thanks for the feedback! After a bit of practice on some unpainted Berzerkers, this is how Kharn turned out:

I will replace the base with a better one once I get my hands on those larger bases soon. I tried to do the plasma glow on the model, which didn't quite work out, but all in all I'm quite happy with this very minimal budget conversion. I finally get to use him in games!

Looking nice, seems like you haven´t lost all skills over all those years . Curious to see how well you will do with some of the newer kits (if you are going through with 40k). Good luck anyway!
