What weapons would be good to build my veteran tactical squad with? I plan to use the sniper tactic, so I was thinking 2 suspensor heavy bolters.

Any thoughts?

i much prefer plasma, yea assault heavy bolters are nice but its not often they rend, at least for me so i stick with plasma

I use the heavy bolter with sniper plan and it works well. Makes for a decent light firebase if you get them into ruins, especially if you back them up with a rhino with a havoc. I would use the plasma or melta versions with outflank.

Heavy flamers with sniper works well on paper, but I haven't seen a lot of use on the board. The sniper thing comes up so rarely with the flamers that my bolter dudes end up getting more use out of it. I might be rotating this unit out because of this and either going with another heavy bolter vet squad or a seeker squad.
