Alright... so, simple inquiry.

Can you take a detachment and as well use the units you get in it in the formation? For example, using DW terminators in the Deathwing Strike Force detachment AND the Redemption Force Formation?

Essentially I'm wondering if I can use the detachment with the formation or vice versa. As I'm making a DW list and want to play an as pure list as possible (I'm aware it's pretty damn hard...) and can take the detachment to have a Ven dread or two drop down turn 1 since the formation makes drop pods deep strike like the rest.

Can 1x squad of termites count as a part of the detachment AND the formation, is what I'm asking. As in filling in the requirement for the minimum for the detachment, but use the formation to deep strike in automatically.

A model can not be in more than one Detachment. So no.

A unit can only belong to one detachment unless a specific rule says otherwise.

The "Decurion" detachments and a few older Formations are basically the only ones with rules that lets a unit belong to two detachments. In all other cases, they can only belong in one.
