Hi all, myself and three friends decided to play a set of five games all tied together into a narrative campaign.

The Invasion of Somthinia

Due to the armies available we settled upon the forces of Chaos (both marines & daemons) VS various forces of the Imperium (mainly IG)

There were a few things we decided we wanted to happen when we set out.

Persistent characters - Thus at the end of each game players can nominate a character model as their MVP and they gain a permanent upgrade - this helps us get attached to them and developed their personality above just being a model and rules.

Interesting and diverse terrain - We didn't want to just have a load of battles on standard terrain boards so each battle uses a very different set of terrain both visually and in game terms with a mix of different table sizes and shapes used.

Rules - Each game uses a variety of special rules for the terrain we play on and special circumstances surrounding what each side is trying to achieve during the game, special attention has been paid to try and make the rules fair in situations where the different forces have different rules affecting them.

Victory Conditions - one of the goals of he campaign was that we didn't want victory in each of the games to be the main focus so instead in each battle there are various goals for each side to try and achieve. Success at this grants various different bonuses going forward in the campaign and helps to link the games.

Onto the games themselves, the first was the forces of Chaos assaulting the main Imperial city and the planetary leaders trying to escape capture.

The second had both sides attempting to acquire resources during a raid on a supply facility.

The third battle involves a large tank battle playing out whilst allied forces struggle for control of a base hidden under the battlefield, it's two games being played at the same time and having affect on each other.

The forth game has both sides search a dense forested area for buried artifacts of chaos whilst an mutated beast roams the wilds looking to prey on the unwary.

The fifth and final game of the campaign as yet to played (I'll add it on) but it'll be a large scale game where the Daemon lord ang'grath tries to manifest on the planet and the fate of the whole world will be in the balance.

Please let us know what you think of the campaign and any suggestions you have as we are planning the next one.

This is pure awesomeness, i'm insanely jealous.

Well done.

-Me: Don't tell the commissar but i left my Imperial Infantrymans Uplifting Primer at home, but I do carry a folded Texas flag behind my front plate.
-Friend: Texas flag gives you AV14 all around.

Jury-Rig - makeshift repairs or temporary contrivances, made with only the tools and materials that happen to be on hand, the Machine Spirit is not pleased......

2500pts (Imperial Navy Armsmen)

Thanks @Austinkos!
We're all really enjoying it, a couple of the other guys were on a bit of a 40K downer with the utter rules bloat of 7th but I'm generally on top of most of it so decided to try to re-invigorate them with the campaign. I've always loved making up new rules and scenarios (see the rest of my video battle reports - Teamclueless40K) and John makes some really awesome terrain so the campaign was born.

I planned out the basic story before hand for the five missions then we all discussed it and made some tweeks and such, so far it's been a roaring success with everyone having great fun in all the games with all players having stuff to play for even when they are nearly down and out.

I've almost finished writing the final mission so hopefully we'll get to play in a couple of weeks
