So, I've gotten back into 40k for the new year. My painting/modeling juices are flowing to complete a Blood Angel army I started last year. I want to keep it focused on the strengths (limited) of the dex focusing on +1 initiative, furious charge and reduced scatter of jump pack marines. Also because it is a fresh start with new models I wanted to bring the bling. It's my second Blood Angel army so I have lots of bits. This is what I came up with. Is it any good? I'm open to feed back and willing to make changes as well.

HQ:
Priest - pistol, the angel's wing, valor's edge

Elites:
2 x 5 Death Company - power fist, jump packs
Fragioso Dread - frag cannon, melta gun, drop pod
8 Sanguinary Guard - banner, 2 fusion pistols, 2 axes, 6 swords

Troops:
2 x 10 Tac Marines - melta gun, combi-melta, heavy flamer, drop pod

Fast:
3 x 5 Assault Marines - 2 melta guns, gun slinger sarge with bolt pistol and flamer pistol

LOW:
Dante

Points: 1850

So,off the hop I probably should not be putting as much points into troops as I am. I bought two of the boxes though and really dig all the iconography. I could drop the squads down to just 5 man with HF in a pod to free up a good portion of points. The plan is to combat squad them coming out of pods. Allows me 2 melta shots to pop transports and a heavy flamer to shoot anything inside. Also gives me two grenade toss's if the squad plops down beside a big infantry unit.

I went with 8 Sanguinary Guard because I kitbashed a priest with the wings. I also plan to kitbash a plastic Dante (only bought 2 boxes). I've put 2 fusion pistols in the unit though not sure if they are worth it. I wonder would I be better to replace the 2 axes and pistols with power fists instead? With Dante though and the Angel's Wing I can precision deep strike the unit 1d6 inches with a reroll. I figure the 3 melta shots (with Dante) would build on the strengths of my war lord and war gear.

The dread I went with a melta gun rather than heavy flamer so the unit would be more flexible. With the Assault Marines I went with 2 melta guns and the flamer pistol to keep them flexible as well. Strength 3 template is not great but I think it would be useful for clearing out weak deckchair units. Was originally going to give the sergeant a combi-melta but don't like the idea of mixed assault and rapid fire weapons in these three squads. Also I went with the Assault Marines with jump packs over drop pod versions or grav-bikes to use Dante's ability's to the max.

I want to play very aggressively with the army (live by the sword, die by the sword). No anti-air so to mitigate I need to be in combat. No objective secured so every thing is expendable. I've not played much of 7th so I have no idea if this list is in any way competent. Not looking to win tournaments with the army but I would like to win some games. My local area has a ton of different armies so I'm hoping it is an all comer list while staying thematic as much as possible.

Anyway, thanks for going through my wall of text. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

Each squad has a power fist and jump packs. Looking to use the squads as chaff to run ahead of my Sanguinary Guard.

Looks solid - maybe less assault marines and more death company.

If you haven't fully put together everything you can make very convincing death company by combining pieces from the tac squad kits and the assault squads (assault legs/backpack and tac body, arms, heads, weapons) and you should have 2 more powerfists from the tac squad boxes.

Man that's a great idea. I could drop one assault squad and reduce the tac marines to 5 each with a HF in a drop pod. Could then bump the two death company squads up to 10 strong with 2 powerfists each. This would give me 15 points to play with. Perhaps another melta pistol in the sanguinary guard and a melta bomb on the priest. I loose 5 bodies in total but 20 death company would be awesome. I have the bits for it as well.
