I will be attending a tournament where you are allowed 2 detachments maximum. I am expecting to face grav stars, IoM super friends, gargantuan creatures and penta-flyrant lists. My idea was to bring a list that could hold objectives and not die, with some killing power.

Decurion
reanimation
CCB
-warscythe, solar thermasite, phase shifter

-5x immortals

-3x tomb blades w/ shadowloom

-10x warriors w/ ghost ark

-20x warriors w/ ghost ark

Canoptek harvest

- 6x wraiths w/ whip coils

-spyder

-3 x scarabs

Destroyer Cult

D. Lord
-warscythe, phase shifter

-3x heavy destroyers

- 3x units of 4 destroyers

Reanimation Phalanx

Overlord
-phase shifter

Triarch stalker

- 10x warriors

-3x scarabs

Idea is for the destoyers to sit around the triarch stalker to get the bonus to shooting, the phalanx overlord and d. lord joining the 20 man brick of warriors, the tomb blades will zoom around and try to take objectives and the immortals will sit on a home objective.

My biggest competition will be with massed flying creatures or grav stars/ IoM super friends lists, since I will have no psychic defense, nor any true anti air.

I am willing to drop the phalanx to add maybe an obelisk or another formation.

Working on it

You could drop a couple wraiths and shave some points to bring in a Night Scythe for that AA. Otherwise it looks pretty good

<Dynasty> ~10500pts
War Coven of the Coruscating Gaze ~3000pts
Thrice-Damned Plague Corps ~3250pts
Admech (TBN) ~3500pts +30k Bots and Ulator

My biggest fear with bringing only 1 flier is I know I am going to face at least 2 anggroths and flyrants will just kill it easily.

I'd keep the list as you have it. I'm curious if the Phalanx will provide a good counter to death stars. Keep throwing those disposable units into melee and see how long you can tie them up.

Personally, I'd prefer having Heavy Destroyers in every unit of Destroyers in the Destroyer Cult. It only adds to their versatility and Heavy Ds and regular Ds actually have a lot of the same targets. At 2500, I'd be worried about more vehicles so having those extra Heavies would be handy. You only need 30 points to upgrade 3 of the Destroyers.

Why a CCB? You don't have a lot of Tomb Blades so you don't need the mobility to give out his buff. You have a 20man blob of warriors. Wouldn't it be more effective to hide a footslogging Overlord in there instead of giving up an easy Slay the Warlord?

I went with the CCB for a little more mobile killing power try and harass some enemies that foot slogging can not get to. With the 20 man blob going to throw the d lord in there to buff them, so the overlord in there would not do much.

The overlord would still give the unit 'reroll to 1' on RP. And having an extra character in there means you can avoid having your other characters challenged out.

It's of course up to you. I just have bad experiences with the CCB since they changed the chariot rules. A random power fist in melee can easily pop the vehicle portion of the chariot and there isn't much you can do about it.

Do you think it would be worth it dropping the overlord in the reanimation and taking zhandrekh?

I personally love Zhandrekh's utility so yes I think it's worth it. If you're going to use your 20man warrior group aggressively then you can choose to use the warlord trait that rerolls 1s when shooting.

I don't think anyone has said this yet, but the Solar Thermasite is Mephrit Dynasty only. So you can't equip it to a character is a codex Decurion.

If you wanted to be silly you could replace the Retribution Phalanx with a Conclave Of The [Night Bringer].
He can use his Gaze to wound FMCs without worry, and with Fleshbane he can actually hurt GCs well enough. Plus, if you give one of the Crypteks in the unit the Veil, you can plonk them down right in the middle of enemy territory for a distraction Carnifex that cannot be ignored.

I've tried the conclave before and that is nice. My biggest issue with it, is I am notorious for scattering, so tried that and 2 consecutive games scattered to mishap and rolled a 1. But for friendly games I usually bring that.

Keep the destroyer cult the way you have it. It is always more effecient to keep destroyer and heavy destroyers seperate since they have different ideal targets.

Other than that looks fun

So I tried this last night and I had a major issue going up against a hellhammer. Blasted of nearly half my warriors first turn.

Anyone have any ideas on how to deal with something like that an apocalyptic large blast, str 10 ignore cover?

The only thing I can think of to counter that would be to put a Cryptek in the unit, giving your warriors a 5+ invul and keeping their RP at 4+.

Put them in Night Scythes. Now they can't be hurt by the big scary blasts.
(then bring a couple Death Scythes so you can hurt his big scary blast machine)

I retooled around the list

Reanimation

Zhandrekh

5 immortals

3x tomb blades w/ shadowloom and shield vanes

10x warriors w/ ghost ark

19 x warriors w/ ghost ark

Canoptek harvest

spyder

6x wraiths w/ whipcoils

3x scarabs

Destroyer cult
d. lord w/ warscythe and phase shifter

3x heavy destroyers

3x units of 3x destroyers w/ heavy destroyer

Reclamation phalanx
overlord w/ phase shifter and voidblade

triarch stalker w/ guass cannon

10x warriors

3x scarabs

This leaves me with 2 points to spare, from the lists I see my biggest problem will be with either tau or IG with a baneblade variant.
