Hey, I'm considering posting pics of my necrons here. Theyre not very good, I'm terrible at painting to be honest. But they have an interesting colour scheme(white/black/gold).
I'd have to use my phone camera(HTC) and again by no means are they the best.

Would Dakka be at all interested in seeing them?

This is what I have going.

To be done:
Doomsday ark.
Tesla Immortals
Overlord (Barge kit)
Annihilation barge
Deathmarks
Tomb blades

Finished:
Warriors
Ghost ark
Triarch stalker
Monolith
Scarabs
Wraiths
Spyder
Doom scythesn

Are you interested in any pointers to improve, or more of a player than a painter?

Yeah man, go ahead and post them. If your proud of them, it won't matter what others think anyway. Plus I'd love to see some necrons that aren't just silver and green.

"Because we couldn't be trusted. The Emperor needed a weapon that would never obey its own desires before those of the Imperium. He needed a weapon that would never bite the hand that feeds. The World Eaters were not that weapon. We've all drawn blades purely for the sake of shedding blood, and we've all felt the exultation of winning a war that never even needed to happen. We are not the tame, reliable pets that the Emperor wanted. The Wolves obey, when we would not. The Wolves can be trusted, when we never could. They have discipline we lack, because their passions are not aflame with the Butcher's Nails buzzing in the back of their skulls.

The Wolves will always come to the heel when called. In that regard, it is a mystery why they name themselves wolves. They are tame, collared by the Emperor, obeying his every whim. But a wolf doesn't behave that way. Only a dog does.

That is why we are the Eaters of Worlds, and the War Hounds no longer."

Some pointers would be nice, but I'm generally more of a painter.

That is a sick scheme, white on gold like that reminds me of something i just can't place.

White is hard to get smooth as you've noticed, the trick is usually to paint in progressively light greys. The gw guide doesn't even use white in their palette. That would probably give you some more depth.

The base is snow? I can't tell, there isn't enough contrast from the model, so it looks unfinished.

Really nice work mate, post some more

Thanks. I use Ceramite White, Abbadon Black, Gehennas Gold, and Nuln Oil. I havent finished the bases yet. I'm using the GW texture snow and a dry brush of praxeti white.

I will post what I have finished tomorrow and will give updates

Looking good! It’s always nice to see what people are painting.

I think the solid, quality tabletop work is probably the most under-represented level as far as pictures here on Dakka go. We have a lot of just starting painters, and a number of I-sold-my-soul-to get-this-good level guys.

Keep posting your work, maybe start a blog over in that section. The P&M section here is very supportive and has a lot of people offering good advice.

Dakka is a big place, so even if only a small percentage of people are interested, you'll get plenty of views. In my experience, it's better to post and see if people are interested.

I like the color scheme. I'm a fan of "ceramic" Necrons, and the white/black/gold is striking.

Overall, very clean paint job. Here are a couple of easy things you can do to make it pop a little:

-Wash the gold. Apply a wash of Seraphim Sepia. This will warm it up and give it some depth. If you want to push your skills a bit, afterwards mix gold and silver at 1:1 and lightly dry brush some highlights, and do some edge highlighting.

-If your brush control is good enough, use some Dawnstone to paint some fine lines in the recesses and armor joints of the white. Again, this will add some depth, and really make it pop. If you wish, top coat it with gloss varnish first, it will make it easier to control, and make sure you thin the grey first so it flows easily from your brush.

-Do some edge highlights on the black with Dawnstone, or paint the areas with Dawnstone, then give a heavy wash with Nuln Oil, then edge highlight. Black is really only black in the shadows, just as white is really only white in the highlights.

Good job overall, and a couple of simple tricks will add some pop and three dimensionality that will look great from several feet away on the table. It's all about adding some contrast.

Really nice colour scheme White is a bugger to paint!

All I can say is practise makes perfect and don't be scared of messing up. There's plenty of products that can strip plastic these days without ruining the models . Just crack on and worst case scenario is they have to take a bath and you start again

well here is a little trick that helps me when painting white first pick a grey to base coat the entire area you want white

i use a bluish cool grey (the label on my bottle is totally ruined), elf grey then highlight with ceramic white, its what i did for my spider's butt, sry my camera hates to focus properly

Its a nice start, maybe try thinning your paints a little, it looks quite thick in some palces(dont worry, I have the exact same problem!).
Also a wash would help define the detail a bit more.
Good luck!

It reminds me of PORTAL personally, So that may be it.

OT: I really like them man, I agree with some others that they look a little flat, but for tabletop quality they are awesome. My only suggestion is a light wash of nuln oil. It'll darken the models a bit, but it will also fill in a lot of details and give some depth to the model. I've used it on white before and it can get a little dirty if your not careful, but it always makes the model look better. I swear by the stuff personally.
