I didn't know where to post this so here we go. I was on FW's site and they have the knight stryix in the 40k section where as previously it was 30k only. Also why keep volkite out of 40k. The rumors say a 40k adoption of cogboys in imperial armor but without volkite. How would that work and why? Could the change be a sign of things to come?

I would put this in the General Discussion subforum. You don't seem to have a rules question.

Not here, I'm afraid. This section is for asking and discussing questions about rules issues or misunderstandings.

So are the rules for that Imperial Knight on FW's site? If so I'll have to take a gander at it. The model itself is pretty gorgeous.

Thanks for moving this mod. And no, rules for the knight are still 30k only which is why it struck me as odd that you can get it in both sections on FW's site.
Why no volkite in 40k its not op. Deflagrate is on the phosphate pistol in skiitari codex and volkite rifle is strait up modeled on the plastic magos so why not just let it be used?

This would require yet another retcon, as the established fluff makes it clear that they became increasingly rare.

I'm all for fluff and its the admech stuff that I think should have it since it is already in Cult mech book and rules wise Deflagrate exists in 40k. I feel like the Volk-knight should be allowed in 40k as a relic like all the others. The only argument I've heard so far for its ban is volkite.

30k is also primarily about t4 3+ save dudes running around. You have some worse saves, but not too many. Thusly Volkite is relatively niche / it's AP almost never comes into play.
In 40k.. This isn't true. There are numerous armies in which bad saves (5+ or 6+ is the norm) is common and in which lower toughness (t3) is very common. Volkite weapons would be horrifyingly brutal against quite a few armies.. And right now most of those armies really don't need to be further brutalized.

One 40k unit has it, the Tech Priest Dominus a very high ranking member of the Mechanicus which shows how rare it is. Grav was allowed into 40k and this is coming from a marine player completely craps on every other special or heavy weapon. What is supposed to be a rare, ancient weapon are suddenly everywhere. I wish GW would have made grav limited like one or two guns per army and one cannon.
We don't need more of a 30k flood than we already have.

40k and 30k Grav weapons have rather different rules.
Likewise the Phosphor Weapons *Lumagen* rule is very different from Deflagrate.
The main issue with Volkites isn't the mechanic itself but the points: Their 30k points reflect the fact that they are useless against most models in it, with the few later added units they can decimate being costed at a mere 2-4 points a model.
The Styrix should be fine as is however, as its Volkite weapon is AP3 anyway so it's cost reflects the fact it can slaughter almost anything.

That should be made into a IH thing Razorbacks with twinlinked grav cannons w/ amps. Might start to make up for how badly they have been wronged.
I think the only reason for lack of voltike is fluff. Game balance doesn't worry GW anymore.

The Land Raider Excelsior has a grav cannon/ amp turret. The same sized turret that fits into a Razorback. It would not surprise me in the least that if the Razorback gets a re-cut and re-release in a forthcoming SM 'dex that we'll see grav-backs.

here here, in fact im all for de-escalating the weapons here and making it a lot less useful to have grav guns, perhaps a 10 point price jack on ever non vehiclized grav weapon
to offset this monsters and gargantuans go up 50 points a pop

Yeah Dark Eldar, Orks, Nids, AM are all juicy prime targets for Volkite.
