I apologise to you all if this has already been discussed in previous posts but I was wondering has anyone tried or does anyone think that a single Imperial Raider-class corvette could stand upto or beat a force of rebel ships of the same points value?

That depends on the upgrades (both on the Raider and the Rebel squad) and how many ships total there, but probably not.

A handful of A-wings with Prockets could wreck a Raider in a couple of turns.

Having played a few games with them, no, probably not. Obviously, unless your opponent had brought a list incapable of damaging it reliably, and/or flies poorly. It's very susceptible to torpedoes (really, huge ships are the only place ordnance tends to be worth anywhere close to their points), because it's position is going to be fairly predictable and it moves very slow. With the exception of the A-Wing, Rebel fighters are slow and would have an easy time sliding into its rear arc too.

Marneus Calgar is referred to as "one of the Imperium's greatest tacticians" and he treats the Codex like it's the War Bible. If the Codex is garbage, then how bad is everyone else?
