Where there ever GS Hybrid or Cults in the game? I would think that there would be but I can't find any. If so then I want them back, if not I want them to be introduced. It would give the Tyranids access to some guns. (I know they have there own guns, But I want a Carnefex duel weilding heavy bolters) and the models would look cool and be easy to convert. Just slap an extra arm and some different paint on and you have a hybrid. That's just my thoughts.

in 2nd edition they use to be their own army and actually had models (although they are very dated now).

Nowadays, the closest you can get is by allying IG with stealers. and even then it's not a very good one cuz of the Come the Apocalypse thing.

The original minis are still out there on eBay and Bartertown, but their prices continue to climb as more collectors snap them up. If you have a bit of skill with putty, it's actually a pretty creative way to run a traitor guard army using IA13. I'm not sure a Carnifex would fit into this type of list since GS cults and Genestealers are vanguard organisms meant to weaken a planet's defenses and gather pre-invasion intel. It's unlikely that they would still be functional by the time a full-scale Tyranid invasion was underway.

I am an old collector, and it took quite a lot of work and time building up the small 100% pure genestealer cult I have for 2nd edition. Just the plastic hybrids and their arms alone cost me more money than I care to admit.

They are however, unique and therefore awesome to have. Led by a Magnus, followed by 10 Hybrids, 15 or so Genestealers, and about 30 old school Rogue Trader Imperial Guardsmen as cultists (those weren't cheap or easy to get either). Doesn't sound like much, but its a big game by 2nd edition standards.

Also, have 6 of the original Tyranid warriors too for when the Hive Fleet shows up.

I collect Squats too.

I would play them using the nid dex, with normal cultists being termagants or hormagaunts, the limos being Tervigons, and looted sentinels being Carnifexes.

Heralds of Ruin have a minidex for their kill teams varient.

In big games the closest us probably running IA13 as said above. Usually though, these cults wouldn't have anything other than genestealers... But if you brought a Carnifex with an earthshaker cannon on his back I wouldn't complain

I used to run a GS cult back in 2nd.
I had 2 magus, a GS patriarch (cant find him :( ), about 20 hybrids and 20 stealers. Was fun when you got the gate off on a GS unit or the patriarch got catalyst.
